kristen dahlgren, nbc news >>> there is a new wildfire raging tonight in california, where high winds caused a blaze near santa barbara to blow up, forcing evacuations and threatening more than 100 buildings. erin mclaughlin has late details for us. >> reporter: it's a battle to save california's pristine coastline from devastation. just north of santa barbara the alisal fire burns out of control, shutting down a section of the famed pacific coast highway. its breathtaking views now marred by smoke. >> not only is this area prone to significant fires that have had significant damage in the past but it's also a beautiful area >> reporter: the fire doubling in size overnight. forcing evacuations from the forest to the sea. firefighters now defending the famed reagan ranch once known as the west coast white house. you can see those flames climbing up that hillside just feet away from this highway. fire officials say the dry fuel combined with the northerly winds are the reason why this highway will be closed for the foreseeable future 7,000 acres scorched, 0% contained threatening up to

for today, kristen dahlgren, nbc news. >> joining us now is corie barry, the ceo of best buy which hasten just laid out. you have inflation up, you have employee shortages, talking about the economy in general and this shipping backlog. how are you handling it? what is your view of this crisis >> i think one of the important things at best buy, we've been navigating this for almost 20 months consumer electronics was one of the first categories to pop and that meant demand skyrocketed globally and some of the factories were shutting down and our teams have been working hard with our vendor partners through this whole time to bring in product what that means is, we've been planning way ahead of time for the holiday. and we're actually in a relatively good inventory position there's a few spotty things like gaming consoles or a phone, that always happens but we're going into the season with more inventory than last year those with specialty and those who have really diversified their supply chains are going to be in a markedly better position through the crisis. >> big companies. >> the o

nbc's kristen dahlgren joins us now with the latest. >> reporter: good morning, guys, yeah this is ay people this morning, we now know that gabby petito was strangled, but there are many questions that remain this morning, new details in the death of gabby petito. the teton county coroner revealing how she died >> we hear by find the cause and manner of death to be, the cause, death by strangulation and manner is homicide the official report noting her ofcaus de eaths as manual strangulation or throttling. the coroner says they believe petito died three to four weeks before her body was found in the wyoming wilderness in september. the timeline would put the 22-year-old's death somewhere around the last week of august >> in a situation like this, nothing is obvious so the cause of death required investigation. >> reporter: for wyoming statute, the coroner could not release more specifics about the autopsy findings, but he did say petito was not pregnant. petito's boyfriend, brian laundrie has been a person of interest in petito's disappearance after returning home to florida alone fo
