"today in the bay's" kristi smith is live with the story. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. what happened they just left the b.a.r.t. station coming from san francisco. they were walking down tennyson road right there underneath the b.a.r.t. tracks when two men held them up. one pulled a gun. the couple did what you might think is the right thing to do. they cooperated. they handed over a purse and a wallet. right after the man handed over his wallet, one of the men shot him, not once but several times. this happened 11:15 last night. the good news, the wife was not hurt in all this. the husband taken to the medical center in castro valley. we're told he's in stable condition. the two men ran off. the suspect description is rather vague. here is what we know. the race is unknown. they are in their late teens or early 20s. 5'7" to 5'9" inches tall wearing white t-shirts and dark pants. they apparently put a cloth over their faces. it was kind of hard to get a good look at them. the police are working to flesh out their descripti

today in the east bay's kristi smith is live in san francisco with that. good morning, christy. >> good morning to you. what a night for three people out fishing for crab near the cliff house in san francisco. their boat capsized sending them into water the coast guard tells me was 55 degrees at the time. this is a commercial fishing boat, 49 foot long boat. the coast guard got the call about 12:40 this morning. i spoke with them. they tell me the owner and two others were able to deploy a life raft and try and help themselves. the coast guard had them out of the water by about 1:05 this morning. they tell me there were 270 crab pots on board, 80 of them full of crab. somehow the weight on the boat shifted and that's what they think caused the boat to tip over. one man was taken to the hospital for evaluation for possible hypothermia. the other two we're told are recovering and doing just fine. i'm told the boat is out of arcadia. the boat is still in the water this morning partially submerged, and so is the life raft. the coast guard telling me they are k

"today in the bay's" kristi smith joins us with this story. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. what's scary is the couple did everything you would consider the right thing to do. they handed over the purse, the wallet. an armed man shot the husband anyway. this happened as they were walking down tennyson road near dixon road near the south hayward b.a.r.t. station after coming back from san francisco around 11:15 last night walking home. here is what hayward police are telling us. two approached the husband and wife. one pulled a handgun and demanded the couple's purse and wallet. again, neither of them resisted. right after the man handed over the wallet, one of the men shot him several times. the wife was not hurt. he was taken to the medical center and we're told he's in stable condition this morning. the race of the suspects unknown at this hour but they are believed to be in their late teens, early 20s, 5'7" or 5'9" white t-shirts and dark papts. they apparently put cloth over their face to cover it. hayward police working to
