. >> the multiple scandals and the absurdity of them, what kristin mink alluded to in her challenging mr. pruitt was not about the money and absurdity of lotions, but about the fundamental need to protect environment. it was about the fact that oklahoma attorney general, he was penning legislation and letters to the federal government written by the coal lobby and energy lobby. so, in many ways, the original scandal that should have been enough in any normal climate is now front and center even more so with andy wheeler. >> kristin, you strike me as an avid news consumer. what do you think, how front in mind is something like the epa to you? >> this is fundamental. a lot of issues that are hugely important right now. there are parents being separated from their children, and as a mother, it is hard to think, nothing more urgent than that. at the same time the environment is a nonpartisan issue. this has to do with the future of humanity and the future of the earth and having a safe place for our kids to grow up and for them to have families and so on. this is a huge issue for me. >> d

kristin, let me start with you.ef there, a real contrast from what we heard when he was in the private-ish setting with angela merkel compared to what he said at breakfast. help us understand that. you've been to a few of the summits. you have seen the president on that stage and from the one we expect to have on monday. how is it different? >> i think it is the president sort of navigating this line between bluster, tough rhetoric, and then really getting down to business and try to hammer out some of the detapils of the policies he's trying to enact at that breakfast, which was remarkable by the way. we rarely see those types of tensions bubble to the surface in these types of summits. the president unleashed on germany, unleashed on nato allies, effectively accusing them of not paying their fair share, but really targeted germany specifically, as you all know, but then dialed it back significantly during that bilateral meeting that he had with the german chancellor. the bottom line is i think in these private con

it was kristin's. was the man she says almost killed her. >> i was certain that he had done this before, but at the same time i didn't think he would do it again. >> the detective called ynobe matthews back down to the station for another interview and decided to pull a fast one with his suspect, telling him he was about to get dna results from the crime scene. >> were you really about to get it that quickly? >> we weren't going to get it that quickly, that day, but trying to get him to believe that we had that information, that we had everything that we needed. i had contacted my supervisor earlier, and i told him if he would page me, just say -- type in the words that says "dna matches." >> and right on cue the detective's pager went off. >> i showed it to mr. matthews and asked him to read it, says "dna matches." >> what does his face look like? >> he became pretty emotional. he said it was an accident but he killed her. >> the detective called carolyn's parents and gave them the news of the confess

let me tell you the story of joe peyton and kristine.ey tried to get pregnant and this is mariah, they're daughter. what fold that was a lot of pain, four surgeries later and kristine was told the chance of her having another baby were essentially zero. 2014 they decided now was the time to try ivf, 10,000 bucks a go. but a blood test showed that that was going to be impossible. first of all, it's april, 2017, and they get a call from a family member in fiji saying would you like to adopt our baby? they get a call on october 31st and they're going to be performing a c section the next day. with almost no day's warning, a bunch of them pack up and move 7,000 miles. dad has to move back to the usa and work while kristine and their daughter mariah moves to feethgy which gets to us this moment where they're about to meet 10 week old kendall. here's the car pulling up now. >> michigan, litthi, little cys. >> that's preciousness at its finest right there. >> mom wanted to daughters say in feethgy for 12, 18 months. and because of that they act

first, kristin fisher live at the white house. kristin? >> rick, there was really two big questions heading into this press availability with president trump. the first, does he believe, does he accept his intelligence community's findings that russia did meddle in the 2016 election and does he believe putin or does he believe the intelligence community? as he said, president trump just said that he misspoke during that press conference with russia president vladimir putin. he said that after he saw all the criticism come out from the media and from the republican members of congress, president trump says he got out a transcript, read it over and it was then that he realized that he simply misspoke. i want to make sure i get this straight. he said i said the word "would" unstead of wouldn't. that's what he said and that's what got so many people up in arms. he said what he meant to say, i don't see why it wouldn't be russia. so that was president trump. that's about as close to as an apology that you'll get from a president like president
