[laughter] kristine: that is absolutely right. obviously the question this week was, is the fed going to pivot or are they getting closer to that pivotal moment? we see essentials -- fed officials pushing back against that notion. now the markets are starting to realize, one, i do not think a pivot business and -- a pivot is necessarily going to come anytime soon and two, pivot does not necessarily mean that the fed will start -- stop raising rates. this realization, the markets are coming to it so where coming into jobs day-to-day that will be a pivotal moment for many reasons. francine: scott, it feels like they are chasing their tails month by month when they look at the data. they still need to analyze what happens the next six months. scott: that is the comments about the rates market is beating everything else. if you look at the correlations across asset, it is extraordinary how correlated stocks and funds have in. that is because investors are hung up on what we call the pause on the pivot point that we do not think they e

we are joined by bloomberg's kristine aquino, and flowbank cio esty dwek. kristine, the rba not hiking as aggressively as many had expected, does it signal central banks are ready to pivot? kristine: it is an interesting move from the rba, one of the bellwethers of policymaking. australia is a smaller, open economy very much exposed to what is happening globally and regionally, given china as its biggest trading partner. this move from the rba speaks to the challenge a lot of central banks are facing across the globe. this balance between growth and inflation, but then also minding the growth impact of such a rapid and massive increase in interest rates. what we're seeing from the rba's going to be interesting if other central banks follow the same route. we're seeing signs of a pullback in rate expectations. we are seeing terminal pricing for the fed lower this week than last. and something similar for the u.k. after the u-turn on fiscal policy. it is quite interesting to see australia setting the example here. francine: how vulnerable our bonds if we don'

kristin: i think we see it certainly surfacing more. that he wanted to privilege conservative white christians. he wanted to protect christianity and a particular type of christianity. p very much used this rhetoric of us versus them. he was not the president of all americans, he was the president of his base and he was going to remote them and privilege their ideas. with that rhetoric, i think it became normalized and we started to hear that more in christian spaces as well. more of a boldness to say we have a right here. this goes hand-in-hand with the idea of an battlement, the idea of threat, and that was something president trump really excelled at, giving the sense that his followers, his base, they were the ones under attack and therefore they needed to be militant, they needed to strike out first, a preemptive strike. you see that among many christian nationalists as well. even though they are in the majority and have a lot of cultural and political power, they will continue to insist that they are the ones who are embattled and

kristine: definitely.e are seeing that sense of relief that this latest leadership contest was not going to be a protracted one. we got some certainty around who will be the next prime minister, who is rishi sunak. in terms of u.k. markets, yes, in general, it is quite a short-term bowl case. in particular, it would be the gilt market that i would want to call your attention to. what really got hammered in markets, partly because of the mini budget. and the pensions fiasco that ensued after that. so, we are seeing quite the reversal. it is quite remarkable. we went from the 30 year gilt yields rising and searching, seemingly endlessly during liz truss' reign to leading the rally in the space. there is a case for short-term optimism in the u.k. but it is a question of continuity and longevity moving forward from here. is rishi sunak going to keep jeremy hunt as chancellor? lots of unanswered questions. for the moment, it seems like investors are willing to buy into the bowl case for u.k. -- bull case for u.
