kristin dahlgren joins us with more this morning. kristen, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, lynn. just when you thought it couldn't get any uglier, word of the tepsest talks yet. republican house majority leader eric cantor is saying the president said to him, eric, don't call my bluff, and then stormed out of yesterday's meeting. now, democrats say those reports are overblown. they admit the president did say, enough is enough, and he urged lawmakers to stop the political posturing and do what's right. both sides say the president has set tomorrow as a deadline to reach some type of agreement on how to move forward from where they are. that as the pressure increased, as you said, moody's, one of the biggest nation's credit rating, said they could downgrade the aaa credit rating if no deal is reached if it looks like the u.s. is going to default. what about senator mcconnell's plan to give the president authority to raise the debt ceiling himself? senator harry reid praised it as senator mccain and a lot of other republicans

kristin dahlgren has more on the investigation. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, laura.you're a victim of what they call cramming, you probably don't know about it. talking about unauthorized fees that show up on the phone bill. they are hidden in there, averaging from $1.99 to $19.99. they can add up. fcc says 15 to 20 million american households have been victims of this. only about 5% know they can be victims of this. it's confusing. here is how companies get away with it. they use fake words for charges, service fees, other fees, calling plans, monthly fees. those can be anything from long distance service you didn't authorize to horoscopes you didn't authorize. they show up on your land line bill, which right now is illegal but fcc continues to fine companies for doing it. now there are no law from the books for wireless companies. a huge concern. what can you do. you need to look at your bill, make sure you recognize companies listed there, know what services you receive, look for charges for calls you didn't place, services you didn't authorize and confirm the rat

"today in the bay's" kristin dahlgren joins us live from washington with how thins are going. good morning. >> reporter: hey, good morning, laura. feels a little like deja vu. we're talking about this every morning. here is what's changed a little bit unfortunately, the tone. things more contentious, personal and still no closer to any agreement. that in spite of a dire warning by president obama yesterday saying if they don't reach some type of agreement by the august 2nd deadline, things like social security checks, veterans checks, disability checks, some 70 million checks may not go out to the people that need them. house speaker john boehner called that a veiled threat and said it's the president's problem. mitch mcconnell says he would try to really make this the president's problem saying they would give the president the authority to raise the debt ceiling in exchange for him suggesting spending cuts. they would only do it, though, through 2012 when republicans hope to defeat him in an election. it's a controversial plan, a lot of people talking about it in washington.

nbc's kristin dahlgren was there and joins us live with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. news choppers lost sight of casey anthony's suv so this morning we don't know exactly where she is. for the first time in three years she's not waking up here at the orange county jail. you can probably hear protesters are still here. with all of the protests, all of the publicity, there was so much talk about using decoys or casey anthony sneaking out a back door. in the end, she walked right out the jail's front door. just minutes after midnight, a first glimpse at casey anthony, free woman. in a bright pink shirt and showing little emotion, she and her attorney jose baez wasted no time. >> she was just tunnel vision to the door. that's when i think i saw that, you know, that smile or relief, if you will, because she saw freedom. >> reporter: but that freedom may bring the start of an even tougher trial for anthony. as she walked out the front of the jail and into an suv, crowds of protesters erupted in anger. security on high alert as anthony's suv drove away. news choppers attempt
