our kristin fisher is live at cape canaveral for this historic mission and kristin also happens to bethe daughter of two astronauts. we saw some little cute bundle being put in a little space suit earlier today. so tomorrow's launch is really sort of a family affair for you, kristin? >> reporter: absolutely, lesli. both of my parents wanted to be astronauts pretty much from the time that they were born. in fact, get this, my dad actually applied to nasa when he was just 12 years old. they sent him a kind rejection later. nearly 30 years later he flew on his last space flight. my mom was in the first class of women selected to be astronauts back in 1978 and she was in the running to be the first woman in space until she got pregnant with me. now at least i'm happy to say that she became the first mother in space so i didn't totally rob her of any of those titles. but absolutely. growing up in a household where both your parents are astronauts i watched every single shuttle launch growing up. they woke me up in the middle of the night to make sure he didn't -- make sure i didn't miss it
