good evening, i am kristine johnson. cbs 2's tracee carrasco is following more. >> reporter: the investigation into the police involved shooting is ongoing of a burglary suspect with a lengthy criminal record. tonight, residents in the normally quiet neighborhood say they have not seen anything like this before. this unidentified woman returned back to her maspeth queens home tonight still shaken by the shooting. cell phone video taken hours earlier around 2 p.m. by a neighbor across the street shows her running into her home, then back out again with seconds later, you hear a single gunshot fired by an nypd officer. you can see the suspect, 37- year-old felix perez, run out of the home on 66th street after being shot in the groin. police tell us they were responding to a call of a burglary in progress. the video does the woman seen on video call 911 after seeing the suspect in her home from a remote surveillance system. she failed to let the suspect inside. >> a struggle ensued, one shot the officers service weapon. >>
