kristi, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, marla. quite a few parents we spoke to think it's a great idea. they were excited. they say enrollment is up in burlingame and they need more space. we spoke with a number of neighbors who say the location of the school is the real issue. the burlingame school district held a ground breaking this morning for hoover elementary, which they plan to have remodeled. some neighbors we spoke with have gone to court, the tight winding streets near summit drive aren't safe for kids. there aren't enough sidewalks. hoover was built in the '30s, then closed and became a temple. recently the school district bought it back and plan to reopen the school to handling the blooming enrollment, including, they say, widening the street out front and including a drop-off zone. some neighbors say there are too many unknowns. >> safe forward-looking statement have a school. you can see by the lack of sidewalks it's a concern. we live in hillsboro. our children do not benefit at all from the school, yet we're going

good morning, kristi. >> good morning. grief counseling is at the san lorenzo high school, right next to the train tracks. everyone is here to help after trying to help a well-known and well liked 15-year-old was killed on those train tracks. that 15-year-old identified as austin christopher price this morning. the students left flowers. they held a vigil at the tracks this morning as well. one parent said they got a phone call telling them about the tragedy. sheriff's deputies say they were playing along the tracks with chicken with a capital corridor amtrak train when he was hit last night around 6:45. the other two students clearly shaken up. i spoke with a parent and the principal. >> austin was a sweet young man. he was involved here, leadership academy on campus, good grades, well loved. >> i feel scared because my son coming to this school also. i'm so sorry, feel so sad. >> reporter: now, there was a moment of silence this morning as well. the principal tells me two memorials are set up inside the school. there are

bay area high school will take a different type of test for tu btube tuberculosis >>> good morning, kristier the deer valley high school website. they will be testing about 200 students here who either shared a class or were in a club with the student who was diagnosed with tuberculosis. the principal at deer valley high school sent a letter home to those families last week. the student who contracted the disease is no longer infectious and was back in school yesterday. the county first found out on march 19th according to the contra costa time. the risk from going from infection to disease is only about 10 irs p. . it took a little while to get the information out tichlts airborne infection of the lungs. symptoms include prolonged fatigue, rapid weight loss of over 10 pounds, fever, chest pain, coughing up blood. those tests are scheduled for this thursday. reporting live, christie smith, "today in the bay." >>> this morning, we are watching the weather for you as the sun comes up over san jose. a nice shot of the hills out there. today, we're being told a warmup in store all over the bay

kristy sn christie smith is live. >> reporter: lawyers for the state are expected to be here in san francisco a little later this morning to say that attorney lorna brown should effectively be disbarred from practicing law for allegedly smuggling this hit list from jail from her client, a list of people that were apparently marked for death or intimidation. she is a former attorney for the once leader of the black organization in oakland. brown has admitted she took his hand written notes after meeting him in jail in 2010. the people on this list were witnesses against bay. that, according to the article. he was convicted for murdering chauncey bailey and two other men. she said she thought the papers she obtained were only love letters to his girlfriend and sermons. the list ended up in the car of a felon who called himself bay's number one soldier. she faces an ethics violation. the trial today should determine what her punishment is. reporting live in san francisco, christie smith, "today in the bay." >>> it is 5:04. things are starting to get back to the way they were in the city of west
