kristi, you are there. what can you tell us about it. >> good morning. after weeks and countless questions on what that went wrong here caltrans came up with a decision to fix the bay bridge. they call it a saddle. it's option two. they were looking at two options. this is an exterior steel sheet that would essentially take the loads the faulty rods were supposed to support in the first place. they say installation would be easier and cost less than the other option. they are talking $5 to $6 million. in march about three dozen steel bolts snapped like twigs after they were tightened. they were supposed to help support movement during a quake. that left many questions open about the safety of the bridge. the faulty bolts were manufactured in 2008. the problem believed to be excess hydrogen. a second batch made in 2010 has held up so far. as for the fix, the steel has already been ordered but they are still watching those bolts made in 2010. >> then you get questions of cost, schedule, et cetera, and then there's a whole other set of questions related to

kristi, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, martinez. yeah, the coroner just released that grim list to me. all five women killed in that limousine fire over the weekend. they range in age from 31 to 46 years old. the coroner hasn't released the exact manner of death but they tell me they really aren't expecting surprises in their investigation. the women who died were michee e estre estrera, 35, anna alcantara, 46 years old. felomina geornga, 43 years old, neriza for has and jennifer balon. they tell me she lived in dublin. nine nurses on the way to a bridal party in foster city burst into flames as it was nearly over the san mateo bridge. the doors may have locked leaving the windows of the driver's department the escape route. four made it out. the rest deceased near the window including neriza for has, it was her bridal party. they exceeded the limit by one but too soon to see what the cause was. the investigation isn't over. they still need toxicology reports. because of the fire, more testing. >> that's part of our testing process,

good morning, kristy. >> reporter: good morning. that's right. mikaela lynch goes to school here in san francisco but she was at her family's vacation home near clear lake when she suddenly disappeared. a little later this morning, the search for her expected to resume and, in fact, widen. 9-year-old mikaela is autistic, doesn't speak. her dad reported her missing from the home on sunday afternoon around 1:30. clear lake police say she had been playing on a trampoline in the yard. her brother ran around to get away from a bee, ran around inside and came back, she is gone. there are fliers up around the area for her. police and volunteers searched all day yesterday. the area is near a number of waterways. there were boats and dive teams out there looking for her. they say she doesn't know how to swim very well. she wouldn't know how to return home on her own. they have looked in cars and backyards to make sure she isn't hiding there. she doesn't have her medication with her and suffers from seizures. she is four feet tall, 70 pounds, blue eyes and

good morning, kristy. >> reporter: the company they are saying doesn't use gimmicks.asically, apple pays all of its required taxes in the united states and abroad. apple released testimony that cook is going to be giving a little later in washington, d.c. according to one report, apple was basically able to avoid paying about $12.5 billion in u.s. taxes by having billions in profits and dividends from overseas operations made payable to apple's irish subsidiary. for tax purposes, they don't really reside anywhere. the report says it has paid almost no money on billions of dollars in income from that entity. the subcommittee doesn't accuse apple of breaking any laws and cook says that apple is likely the largest corporate income taxpayer in the united states with a tax rate of about 30.5%. he says apple welcomes an objective examination of u.s. corporate taxes. code and system. he is even recommending some reforms on his own again. that expected to get underway in the next 30 minutes. that's what we have here. >> christie, thank you. >>> you may hear the term, check th

kristy, what are they telling you? >> reporter: good morning to you. a sergeant tells me the teenagers in the victim cars did not shoot back at all. it is sitting up on a tow truck. two young men on foot opened fire on this car. the car the victims were sitting in. a 16-year-old driver died at the scene. he was shot and killed. the victim, all four of them were sitting in. i counted at least 15 bullet holes in the side and the rear of this car. there were also bullet casings all over the ground. a second car in a driveway right near this one also hit by gunfire, the back window was hit and side windows shattered about 10:57 p.m. what they are telling me is that the technology alerted there was gunfire going off, rapid gunfire on ford hham street and found three teens had been shot. a fourth teen was in the car but was uninjured. >>> the investigation at this point has revealed that the victims were sitting in the car. a total of four individuals in the car when two possibly hispanic males approached them on foot and opened fire on to the vehicle. appro
