kristy seifkin is live in our newsroom keeping track of the ongoing search for the missing. and we have heard this has turned from a recovery back to a rescue mission, kristy. >> reporter: right. that's actually very positive news to hear because originally, a recovery mission certainly just means they assume that they will be bodies not living individuals that they find but the u.s. government talked to the mexican government saying we believe these people are alive, continuing to search for them. the weather was nice when these gentlemen left on their fishing trip and then a storm hit two huge waves hitting the boat causing it to capsize around 2:30 in the morning. many of those passengers were asleep at the time that the boat capsized and so they had to jump off or were thrown into the water hanging on for dear life using ice chests for flotation devices or life jackets that they had. the u.s. coast guard and mexican navy searched for those survivors for more than 36 hours. >> there's a lot of different factors that go into survivability. the age of the person, male or fem

"san jose mercury news" has reported that as many as 14 pg&e inspectors may have falsified checks on underground electrical facilities and that would be in santa clara county, san francisco, and in parts of the east bay. now representative for pg&e has come forth and said it's probable that 23 underground enclosures listed as inspected were not and that another 50 were suggestion respected or not likely opened. pg&e also concluded that another seven underground enclosures may not have been opened and properly checked. the reason that pg&e even found out about these falsified inspection was that an employee tip came about and then they launched and investigation last november. it was during that investigation that pg&e identified a suspect employee, a worker who was supposed to have checked an underground enclosure in 2009 near the delmas and park avenues in san jose and it was in may of last year that that enclosure exploded and knocked

kristy seifkin is in san francisco with more on what an internal investigation uncovered. shocking, kristy. >> reporter: it is some pretty shocking news. the "san jose mercury news" has reported that pg&e came forth yesterday and said that as many as 14 of their employees may have falsified or not even checked under ground electrical inspections in santa clara county, also in san francisco and in the east bay. now, pg&e's spokesman in that report has said that as many as 23 underground enclosures listed as inspected actually were not inspected and that another 50 enclosures were either suspect or not likely opened. pg&e also concluded that another seven underground enclosures may not have been opened and properly checked. the reason that pg&e even found out about these falsified inspection was that an employee tip came about and then they launched and investigation last november. it was during that investigation that pg&e identified a suspect employee, a worker who was supposed to have checked an underground enclosure in 2009 near the delmas and park avenues in san jose and

closer to home, first over to kristy seifkin. good morning. >> good morning. i know you ladies have been talking about when is the warm weather going to come? well, today not quite yet. we are going to see some more sunshine today but for the meantime we'll see some cloud cover this morning so partly cloudy conditions inland. around the bay clouds as well and the coast a lot of drizzle there yesterday. not as much this morning although certainly going to be a little gray out there. sunshine in store though by later on today in the inland locations. going to make it to the mid- 70s. bay to the mid-60s. and a mix of sun and clouds and at the coast temperatures certainly cooler and breezy conditions. staying overcast there most of the day. cloud cover at the coast pushing through the bay and then those inland spots, this is clearer than yesterday at this time of day so a little more sunshine in store by this afternoon. the low still in the picture right now bringing us those cool conditions, breezy conditions and a little fog. it's not going to be for a couple da
