kristy siefkin joins us live now. kristy, what a disturbing story. >> incredibly disturbing, marc, and in fact it was a woman in her hid 20s that was in the entertainment district, had a little bit too much to drink, and she actually passed out here in this parking lot. just a little bit later, surveillance video showed that a man walked up, threw the girl over his shoulder, took her away, and then as you mentioned, sexually assaulted her several times throughout the course of the evening. that man has been identified as employee over at the hotel valley ho. police tell us that just after midnight on the 17th, the victim and her friend were out drinking. the victim, as i mentioned, had too much to drink. she was too intoxicated to walk, so her friend left her here in the parking lot so that she could go get the car. when she returned to pick up her friend, that friend was gone. now police say that ramirez picked up the victim, carried her away, assaulting her three times before he dropped her off at an intersection in

kristy siefkin joins us now with the story on this remarkable man. >> such an inspiring story. larry hinkel will be making stops at fire stations, police stations, and v.a.'s across the country. tower in iraq. since then he's several of his colleagues struggling with ptsd waiting years to get help from the v.a. larry had to wait 5 1/2 years to get all of his claims resolved by the v.a. when a friend of his committed suicide, he knew he needed to raise awareness, starting this national campaign moving from the east coast to the west coast. he named this tour "the hump." larry left north carolina back at the beginning of april. he arrived here this afternoon. while he's here, he'll be making his way by foot within individual cities. he uses an rv to get city to city. by foot, he's visiting a variety of first responders, giving them meals, giving them gift cards in order to thank them for all that they do. >> this, more than anything, has helped me. getting to reconnect with your family, your brothers and your sisters, and these first responders that put it all on the line daily.

kristy siefkin tracking a hurricane, hurricane payne, currently churning off the coast of mexico, and this one is actually going to have an effect on our weather, right, kris ty. >> it is definitely going to have an effect, kari. you have probably already noticed the increased cloud cover, making its way across the state into the area this evening, a big push of moisture making its way and arizona. as kari mentioned, this system called payne, very gusty winds, 80 miles an hour winds, gusts up to 90 miles an hour earlier today. by the time we get into the far eastern sections of the baja, this will be a tropical depression. still a ways off the coastline of california, but we are seeing california already in arizona. take a look at these dew points, inching up number by number throughout the afternoon and evening into the 50s and into the 60s. you'll also notice the cooler temperatures as a result of that system moving in, and i'll tell you more about how that will affect our forecast in terms of rain coming up a little bit later on in the show. >> okay, see you in a bit, kristy. >>> a

i'll give you the details coming >>> your exclusive accuweather forecast with kristy siefkin on fox 10 news. >>> and the weather is looking nice out there. the mornings are feeling great. i mean we are in the homestretch, it's starting to feel that way. >> we are in the homestretch, very close to the 1st day of fall, seeing cooler temperatures daytime as well. we're going to see those temperatures drop in fact as we get into the next a couple of nights, in the 90s very calm across sky harbor, temperatures across the valley, already cooling in many locations. to the south of us, you'll notice a little bit of activity in mexico. that's going to influence our forecast as we get into monday and into tuesday as well. pretty clear out there tonight, in fact not seeing any cloud cover. that's going to change though as we see a surge of that is thanks to a tropical system. this system named payne is moving pretty slowly at about 15 miles an hour, very gusty winds at about 70 miles an hour, tracking to the north and then making its way east to the baja peninsula, eventually becoming an isolated

but things are about to change in a big way, and we are talking about hurricane paine, and kristy siefkin joins us from the weather center where she is tracking paine's path. i'm calling it a pain in the a disctiaz. >> like that. fall only a few days away now, its way along the baja peninsula, you'll notice some of that moisture right now pushing over the international border. we are not seeing a whole lot of it yet in arizona, but let's show you where the system is planning to move, right now, slowly creeping along at about 13 miles an hour, a category 1 hurricane at this point, but as it swings to the north and to the east, it will become a tropical depression, making landfall along the baja peninsula, and with that a push of moisture from the south into southwestern arizona. take l numbers across northern arizona only in the 20s and 30s, into southern arizona, that's where we are seeing dew points that are much higher as we often see in the monsoon season. we are seeing all of that activity as numbers continue to climb. numbers in parts of the state warmer than it was yesterday at the

i'm kristy siefkin, "fox 10 >>> two students and a teacher south carolina elementary school and now we are learning that the shooter apparently shot and killed his father. a teen suspect is in custody and a man believed to be the shooter's father was found dead near the school. the victims were flown to local hospitals. a teacher and one child are in good condition. another child remains critical. that shooting happening at townville elementary school and that's about an hour southwest of greenville. the school has 286 students from pre-k to 6th grade. >>> obviously the worst. at the same time hopeful and prayers that everything was okay. it's not ever a situation that -- it's not a fun call you want to get. in the endering everything worked out and at least from my son, he is okay. >> classes at the school have been canceled for the rest of the week and that investigation is expected to take several weeks. >>> and there will be another news conference on the shooting time. we will carry that live on fox 10 news now. >>> still ahead tonight at 5:00, remember when sheriff joe arpaio too

kristy siefkin joins us live from the phoenix police department. what have you learned? >> reporter: john and kari, the severed arm was found behind right way auto parts and it was on the edge of a field that extends to the salt river. workers were shocked and confused when they found what had been discovered there. police making a gruesome discovery this a severed arm behind a scrap yard. >> i'm going to be honest, it is creepy. >> reporter: daniel hernandez works a few doors down where the limb was found. police busy at the scene when daniel arrived. >> i saw police and k-9's and the van pulled up. >> reporter: a worker at right way auto parts said he found the arm at the back of the property hand attached. >> it is creepy. i have never seen this in my life and hearing about it next door. >> reporter: police searched the yard for additional remains but found none. >> whoever did this, you know, it is not right. >> reporter: police are working to identify the victim and, of course, find out how the arm ended up in the yard in the first place. siefkin, fox 10 news. >>> t
