this was sent to us by a kron 4 viewer. you can see a car trying to drive through the water. driving through the water is very dangerous because you can never be sure exactly how deep the water really happening today... schools in marin county are expected to reopen. several school were closed yesterday because of the flooding. this was the scene in front of tamalpais high yesterday you can see the broken tree. the wood chips on the sidewalk show exactly how high the water got yesterday. most of the water receded by yesterday afternoon but there were still some lanes in front of the school that were still flooded and too dangerous to drive in. and this was the scene at redwood high school in larkspur. the water rose all the way up to the bleachers on the softball field. at one point the water was about a foot deep. public works crews even had to block off the parking lot where the nearby marsh had spilled over. and you can keep updated on all the storm damage in your area as well as the timing of the next storm by downloadi

kron four's j-r stone investigates. saturday's highway 4 shooting is at least the third bay area freeway shooting of the year. it comes less than a month after a highway 242 shooting in concord that left a man hurt and a black mercedes riddled with bullets. and less than a month after an i-80 shooting near carlson boulevard in richmond. three shootings may sound like a high number but it certainly doesn't compare to what we saw last year. from novemeber of 2015 to the end of 2016 there were more than thirty bay area freeway shootings. the highest number of shootings happened on the i-80 coordior but branched onto other freeways throughout the area. almost all of these past shootings have been labeled gang related. last year law enforcement credited the reduction in shootings to a multi county gang bust that put two dozen people behind barscredit has also been given to officials in the city of pittsburg who budgeted at least a hundred grand on 14 freeway cameras that are now installed and recording any car traveling alon

live in milpitas ella sogomonian kron 4 news. in the south bay- a massive chunk of highway 35 in los gatos broke off yesterday, ... the road remains closed, but that hasn't stopped people from making the trek to take a look. and, as kron four's philippe djegal reports... neighbors don't expect the area to re-open for months... a portion of highway 50 in the sierra remains closed tonight. because of a massive mudslide. the highway is closed from pollock pines to strawberry in el dorado county. motorists are advised to use an alternate route, those who live in the area and have proper identification will be allowed access from west us 50 there is no access from east us 50 . that mudslide happened near icehouse road..just east of pollock pines crews have been on the scene since last night...assessing the task at hand. caltrans and the c-h-p both don't believe the highway will fully re-open until early next week at the earliest. north of that area- all lanes on interstate 80 near baxter in the sierra reopened. i-80 had been closed si
