gayle ong kron. 4 news. a new report says gun violence, casa santa clara county, 72 million dollars every year. that accounts for police. >> emergency services and health costs. the county says that does not include the cost to keep the jail running. the report also says that in 2021 550,000 guns were owned by santa clara county residents over the weekend, the county held a gun buyback initiative where police were able to collect more than 400 guns during that event. supervisor cindy chavez said the county decided to examine the cost of gun violence following the 2019 shooting at the gilroy garlic festival. she said the report offers an opportunity for the county to weigh strategies for addressing gun violence. >> there are communities all over the country that have used a different kinds strategies to lower gun violence as an example in cities like philadelphia, frankly, they're finding that by cleaning up a community, you can lower gun violence. so we i think there are plenty of opportunities for us to loo

you kron. 4 news. >> new at 3 o'clock. a utility company is now being sued on behalf of the victims of the coastal fire in orange county. that fire destroyed 20 homes last week and damaged nearly a dozen others. the lawsuit alleges southern california edison is responsible for the brush fire. the cause is still being investigated, but the company has said that there was, quote, a circuit activity with their equipment near that neighborhood right before the fire started. attorneys for the homeowners say it's another example of the company not properly maintaining its equipment and clearing brush. the utility has not commented on the lawsuit. and the conditions are ripe out there for a fire. it is windy and dry and warm. we will talk about our forecast right now as we take a live look outside here across the golden gate bridge. our meteorologist rodriguez has details now on the red flag warning that will be in effect for parts of the north bay. yeah, that's right. specifically for solano county just seen were have fire dange
