let's start with krystal cline. what's the latest track on the storm? >> the snow is moving through parts of illinois, heading into ohio. still a ways out, but the 60s of today really will turn into the 30s for tomorrow as the snow starts to move our direction. we're under a first alert for the entire area. everywhere else is looking at a good hit of snow. enough so we're talking accumulation. 4:00 a.m. to noon is when we put this first alert into effect. crucial timeline is why we decided to put this first alert in effect because it could lead to some driving concerns leading to slick roads. poor visibility at times as well. heavy snow could lead to a lowered visibility across the

. >> our live coverage begins with bill henley, krystal cline, erika martin. >> it is moving out. that is wet and heavy snow that needs to be shovelled, but it is going to be frozen solid as the day moves on. the snow has ended in wilmington. ocean city a little bit of snow in parts of the area. not on the beach. boardwalk has a little bit. you can see it's on the grass, but it is starting to disappear there. drier air is working in. no sunshine yet in ocean city, but later in the day that is a possibility as this snow is on the move. it is pushing to the east. has already come to an end. in delaware it is drying out as well and south jersey, while it has ended for cape may and cape may courthouse, corbin city and atlantic city, there's still some light snow falling in toms river and ship bottom. the snow will be ending shortly. same for trenton. this is much lighter snow than what we saw earlier in the day, but we're going to get stronger winds as the day goes on and this is why it is going to be freezing solid. that's cold air that's dumping into the area and is going to make it

let's get you up to date with krystal cline. >> right now it's all about the rain.he rain is even starting to move out. this is really timing out as expected. what we'll see in the afternoon is lingering showering in the northern half of our viewing area. delaware and new jersey not getting a ton of rain until you get into central and northern parts of new jersey. you see the lighter green there. as we track through parts of ocean and monmouth county and passing now out of mercer county as well. a little bit ago you see those spots of yellow. pemberton getting a steady rain that will be moving off to the northeast. we have the rain that's tracking through currently. temperatures are only going to support rain. most of us in the 40s. 43 mount holly. some spots are really warming up. 54, atlantic city. 57, melville. dover is at 47 degrees. a huge range in temperatures. as we go through the next several days, quite a few variations in conditions. here's a look at the current wind speeds. winds are 10 to 15 miles per hour. as we see a big drop in temperatures, the winds
