krystal klei is tracking the storm this weekend and also our weather. >> yeah, and we're very lucky to have some quiet calm weather this weekend, so we'll start with hurricane irma. the update to the track and conditions of irma are just coming into the computer right now. so ten mints from now, i can bring you the latest update. but infrom a couple hours ago, 160-mile-per-hour winds moving to the west at 12 miles per hour. we are waiting when the turn to the right will hit and the movement to the north will edge toward florida. but at this point still movement to the west. the track shows that it has just brushed up against cuba making a landfall in cuba as a category 5 hi hurricane. it will ride the cuba coastline through our saturday. but the rain is already starting to move into florida as we speak. so it will progress to the north throughout the day. and then from a category 4, here is a look at the extended track. so sunday at 2:00, right against that southern tip of florida to monday at 2:00 a.m., right against the western coast. but look at the cone. still some wobble room depe

we get the details from krystal klei. >> so within the last half hour, that rolled in and now we're looking at the conditions as they track along florida with the updated track. remember it's more about the cone than the direct red line that you see. that is just the potential track that is most likely at this point and you can see the cone still covers much of florida here from about sunday early morning to tuesday early morning. so this is not just a day event here that we're looking at. winds at 155-mile-per-hour with hurricane irma and it's moving to the west/northwest. so we are seeing that it will edge more to the north and make that turn. look at the track, riding the cuba coastline through today. overnight into early sunday, it looks likely that it will start to impact and make landfall somewhere over the florida keys before it moves right along the western coast of florida through about tuesday in those early a.m. hours. so irma is very soon going to be directly impacting florida. there are hurricane watches and warnings over pretty of the entire state. those in red are under right

let's check in with meteorologist krystal klei and the most accurate forecast for your neighborhood. >>> look ag the cool and clear -- looking at a cool and clear start. a nice forecast. i've been saying this day after day after day. no complaints for us. if you look at the radar and satellite wide view, there's the clear picture i was talking about. the whole state of pennsylvania is looking good. we have clouds that are starting to build over parts of the virginias. that's moving our direction. especially in the afternoon, i think we'll see more scattered cloud coverage across the region. then tomorrow, mostly cloudy ahead of some rain to impact us by wednesday. we'll get to that in a minute. let's talk today, heading out for work, sending the kids to school, really nice afternoon moving forward. 78 in center city, 77 in summer ton. we'll be at 76 in lansdale and easton. doylestown, high of 75. 77 in hammondton. upper 70s are close to the average for this time of year. around the low 80s where we should be. really not a bad september forecast for us moving forward as we stay dry. n

meteorologist krystal klei has the details. ystal. >> for those who don't want to quite yet let go of summer, this will be a very welcome weekend forecast. take a look at radar and satellite map. we have pretty much clear sky conditions, few spotty clouds out there this morning and that's about it. no rain to track. if we go wide view, there's no large systems moving our way either. we don't have a front or low pressure center bringing in a good bit of rain. instead, all we're going to see this afternoon are chances of some isolated showers due to just some of that afternoon warming and a little bit of moisture that's suspended in the air. really it's a fairly dry forecast today and even tomorrow. current temperatures right now we're at 62 mt. holly, 69 in philadelphia. dover also at 66 degrees. so we've got these temperatures in the 60s right now, but by later today we're going to warm up to warmer than average temperatures. average would be 78 in philly, we're talking low to mid 80s for high temperatures. warm and humid today.

meteorologist krystal klei has the details for us. >>> we have issued a first alert for tropical impacts due to hurricane jose. we're going to start this monday evening but last through early thursday morning. though we're starting to feel the impacts already today due to the fact we're in a high rip current risk. for the next several days straight, and that's the big deal. we are looking at high surf, high rip current risks, minor coastal flooding possible and some beach erosion especially those areas more prone to this occurring. we want to warn people these are not good days at the shore. let's look at our tropical satellite. this is hurricane jose. still a category 1 hurricane. a different location than yesterday. yesterday it was east of florida. now it's east of georgia and is tracking north. that's what will lead to more worsening conditions for us at the shore. it's a pretty clear picture out there. radar trying to pick up a few showers developing. i'll have to check and see if that's a false return or actual showers starting to develop. as we go through today i expect some spott

we'll get to meteorologist krystal klei with the neighborhood weather forecast. we're looking at irma rains? >> what's left of irma. not a lot left which is good news for us. we're not talking flooding rain, not any high totals. we're watching moisture move our direction. we have this little area of rain here and another area here. what's going to happen is that first area, that's going to move through today. then this is going to start tracking our direction. that means more shower chances as we go on into your thursday. isolated chances friday. even a spot chance on our saturday. look at radar and satellite now over us. we just have clouds out there. high clouds at best. not a lot of rain yet to track. i do believe that will change as we get into our afternoon hours especially. here are our temperatures. a pretty good start. we're at 60 in trenton. 65 in philadelphia. allentown at 56. compared to, say, yesterday morning, we are running warmer by close to five degrees on average across the board. a warmer start, some rain heading our way. things do start to look

our meteorologist krystal klei is watching. >> we're watching for tropical impacts. we're talking about feeling some of the effects of jose as it skirts off to the east of us mostly out to sea. we'll start with monday night for the major impacts. jose a high risk of rip currents. this is why we have our first alert in effect. you need to avoid the water if you're down by the shore. minor coastal flooding. this is minor. some beach erosion possible. this is all due to swells that will be much larger as jose approaches from the south. there it is right here sitting directly to the east now of georgia and just to the southeast of the carolinas. a little different than yesterday when it was directly to the east of florida because it's starting to move on a north track. as it continues to move north that's when it will parallel the east coast and start to bring us the larger swells in the next several days. visibility locally, current conditions. today is actually going to be a pretty nice last day of the weekend and last day of the summer in terms of weekend conditions.
