a popular traffic app it is coming under fire from the police this morning who say it may be putting officers at risk. ktvu alex savidge is in the studio to explain why some in law enforcement want the ways app to make some changes. >> dave, good morning to you. a lot of drivers use the ways app to navigate around traffic troubles. it has alerts all over about accidents and construction. but what is causing controversy this morning is the police reporting feature. you can click on one of the icons. it says police trap. it allows users to up load information about the exact location of police officers. and there is one major law enforcement group that believes this particular feature could put officers lives in danger letting someone who might want to hurt an officer know exactly where to find them. the sheriffs association is urging google to disable this feature. which one sheriff calls the police stalker. there are no known connections between thewise -- waze app. in the meantime one civil liberties group is weighing in here. disabling this feature would not be appropriate saying quote i do not think it
