, host of kudlow on fox business.hy does the labor participation rate keep going down? where are all the people? >> well, i wouldn't -- you had a huge influx of workers last month, i think 700,000. so you lost about 50, 55,000. i don't think that's a big issue in this particular report. i mean, i think overall the government is paying too much assistance for various entitlement programs and we're paying people not to work. there is no work requirements so you probably have 4 to 5 million people at least who are staying out for economic reasons. they are getting just as much from the government as they would from a job. so i think that's an issue. i don't think that's the biggest part of this report. this was a fairly solid report. we're seeing a gradual decline in job creation, about 500,000 jobs per month over the last year settling in to 250,000 or so. wages slightly easier but still your overall wages 5% this month, 12-month change versus 5.2 last month. production worker wages, blue collar wages and so forth 5.8%

[laughter] i mean, you're talking about a couple days of trading. you know, look, the 2-year mote has gone up 340 basis points year to date, so that's a trend. the 10-year is up 220 basis points year to date. so this has been a tremendous increase. by the way, mortgage rates have gone up over 7% now. they're up about 350 basis points. so, stu, i would not put any stock in the short-term wiggles and wobbles in this market. interest rates are going higher. the federal reserve is going to have to continue to tighten because underlying inflation is still running around 7%. that's more than three times their 2% target. i mean, i think there's always speculation mt. bond market -- in the bond market. for example, yesterday the ism manufacturing report came out, and it was soft. so w
