there are two democratic nos, jared goldman a moderate from maine and also kurt schrader, a moderate from oregon. the bill included an increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour. but the wage hike doesn't qualify for the bill under special budget rules in the senate. they'll strip that out next week. at least two democrats, chris and cinnamon of arizona, and joe manchin of west virginia, opposed, including the wage increase in this bill. that may help democrats pass the bill eventually. but some democrats could balk when the bill goes to house of representatives. the house will have to align at some point with what the senate did. when i ask house speaker nancy pelosi if she expected any issue with the bill coming back to the house without the wage increase, she replied, "no." democrats can only lose four members on their side to pass the final version of this bill. this could doom the legislation for president biden could hear is the timetable. the senate will debate the bell next bill next week, and that's when the extra unemployment benefits run out. they want to get this done be
