white house counsel to save all documents relating to the june 2016 meeting with paul manafort, jared kush near, donald trump jr. and a russian lawyer. the request pertains to any subjects discussed in the course of the meeting and also any decisions made regarding recent disclosures about the june 2016 meeting. now, mueller's letter clearly connects this request to the larger russian investigation. here's what it said in part. as you are aware, the special counsel's office is investigating the russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, including any links or coordination between the russian government or individuals associated with the campaign of donald trump. there was word that this is relevant to the investigation. the request includes text messages, notes, e-mails, voicemails, pretty much anything related to that june 2016 meeting, as well as anything afterwards, any communication about it afterwards. i should note that these requests are not uncommon and are often sent at the early stages of an investigation to ensure the documents that are relevant
