kuwaitis expressed to me their preference for u.s. medical services and treatment and many of you know that they continued to sponsor medical treatment services abroad for 12,000 kuwaiti nationals and the u.s. is a primary destination for that group of patients. kuwaitis, like american doctors and hospitals and medical equipment in technology and medicine and given the preferences and u.s. competitive expansion contracts. in the field of i.t. and telecommunications there are a wealth of opportunities particularly for u.s. companies that are able to provide the level of technical expertise that kuwait requires as it aims to upgrade the existing infrastructure. over the next five to ten years, they will require to embrace technologies from government to education to health care industry. one potential partner for the u.s. in u.s. i.t. and telecommunication firms is kuwaiti ministry of communications. this ministry has been tasked for the telecommunications and infrastructure and has embarked on a plan to install the comprehensive fiber

i take the kuwaiti border issue. we long promoted the idea of reconciliation between iraq and kuwait and other gulf neighbors. we have long promoted the concept of iraq playing a central role in the region, a peaceful constructive role, not the type of role that iraq played under saddam hussein, where he was wreaking havoc in the region, invading his neighbors, things like that. but there were political challenges inside iraq. you would understand the political dynamics better than i do in terms of what it does it mean, in terms of paying for the border demarcation, acknowledging deals on kuwaiti airlines, things like that. i think these sorts of things are actually easier for the iraqis to take now than they were when we had troops there. if you're going to take a politically difficult decision in terms of your own base, when the american troops are there, people could easily say you're taking these because the americans are telling you to. now we can provide council, advice, brokerage between iraq and its neighbors

we're in this kind of black and white period debate within the kuwaiti markets. is the game over, is the bull market over? same with the bond markets. the yield's over, the yield has gone back to a 220, now it's back below two. this is very healthy for the markets. underlying earnings are still going to be good. if rates stay as low as they are, we're going to see money naturally moving back into equities over a long cycle once we know that the earnings season that's starting is not going to be as weak as people think. >> but you're buying this idea that this could be really good news and if we continue to see low yields, there's no place to go at the stock market in. >> correct. and i don't think the news has to be good, but it doesn't have to be as bad as people are expecting. and that's a critical point because we saw that in europe in the fourth quarter, the news was less worse and we got a big move starting in the first quarter when things started to not be as bad. >> when you say the news not as bad as people were expecting, you mean somethilike earnings t
