kyla campbell has more. >> reporter: as the u.s. prepares for expanded airstrikes against isis, the cia says anywhere from 20,000 to more than 31,000 militants are fighting for isis. that includes about 2,000 westerners and a dozen americans. the obama administration says right now, u.s. swins -- surveillance flights are over syria. president obama wants congress to approve $500 million to our moderate syrian rebels to fight isis on the ground. he's finding republican support. >> somebody's boots have to be on the ground. so i do believe that what the president has asked for, as the commander-in-chief to train the syrian rebels, and we should give the president what he's asking for. >> reporter: u.s. officials say ten allies have agreed to join the coalition to fight isis. turk yurk initially -- turkey initially declined but john kerry is meeting with those officials today to see what the country would be willing to contribute. back to you. >>> another warm day underway around the bay area. some areas nearing 100 degrees once again.
