she was appointed in february to investigate sandusky county sheriff kyle overmeyer. after 10 hours of testimony and deliberations in a special -- and a special grand jury, the sheriff is being indicted on 43 charges. of the overmer, the sheriff since 2003, was being investigated after a local sheriff had concerns about how he was handling prescription drop boxes. they say he was taking drugs from the boxes for five months last year. on top of that, the investigation shows that overmeyer altered records, he misused money from his department and he deceived various doctors to get drugs in 9 separate instances. some time between april 2014, and january 2015. the 24-page indictment said the five counts of misdemeanor charges stem from overmeyer filing false financial reports. overmeyer is expected to appear here in the sandusky county common police court some time today. we're not sure on a time just yet, about you we'll keep you updated. meg shaw, newschannel 5. >> and thank you. >>> new this morning for you, police in cincinnati investigating a rash of heroin overdoses
