kyra? >> christine, thank you. investors were antsy about that report. alison kosik at new york stock exchange, what do you think, how are they feeling right now? >> feeling pretty good. saw the stock prices turn much higher, 100 points about half hour before that opening bell. you know, this came in better than expected. as cnn money surveyed only 65,000 jobs were going to be added. this 103,000 number coming in. a nice report compared to the expectations that are out. we need to see it chip away at the unemployment rate in a stronger way. investors, though, as christine said, they're also upbeat that zero figure from august was revised higher, so was july. so, you know what, we're going to see if the dow's three-day winning streak continues at this point. the blue chip average has made triple-digit moves for nine days in a row. six of them higher and three of them lower. shows you just how volatile the marketplace is and how uncertain everybody is about where the economy is going. even wi

kyra? >> ivan watson there live from tripoli this morning. ivan, thanks. >>> now the military mission in libya. scheduled to meet today and with gadhafi's death, the end of the mission is likely in sight. chris lawrence is at the pentagon. what are the details of the airstrikes that actually led to gadhafi's death? >> the gadhafi loyalists were boxed in to a particular area in the city of sirte in between the rebels on the ground and a drone doing surveillance from the air. they had been monitoring this group for some time. at about 8:30 in the morning, a large convoy, 75 vehicles made a break for it. nato says it was traveling at a high rate of speed, the convoy was heavily armed. they engaged in american predator drone and a french fighter jet hitting one vehicle in the convoy disabling it. that disrupted the convoy. some people got out and ran away on foot. about 20 vehicles kept going at a high rate of speed and that's when the drone and fighter jet came back around and disabled another

kyra? >> all right, barbara starr there at the pentagon. thanks. we'll talk a lot more throughout the morning. >>> we are expecting from the national transitional council a news conference hopefully in the next hour or so with more on the reported death of moammar gadhafi. the question is, will they provide proof? dan rivers is our senior international correspondent. he is in tripoli. what can you tell us? what is the latest on the reports that gadhafi is dead today? >> well, the minister for information was just talking to us and he seems clear and certain that colonel gadhafi is dead, but he's waiting for chairman of ntc to make that formal announcement at some sort of press conference in the next hour or so, he said. it seems, he is confident it is true off camera, as well. there is this photo circulating now of a figure covered in blood. now, it's not clear if that is colonel gadhafi, but it has certainly been touted as such by some news channels here and libyan state tv has been reporting that colonel gadhafi has been killed for some time now.
