thanks so much. >>> turning to the kyron horman case. press conference later this morning as investigators reveal they're trying to learn more about a person who may have been seen in terri horman's truck the morning her 7-year-old stepson disappeared. mike von fremd is in portland, oregon, with the latest on this case. good morning, mike. >> reporter: good morning, elizabeth. investigators today want to share new and possibly suspicious information with the public hoping that by revealing potential clues, somebody will come forward with a crucial piece of this puzzle that will lead them to the missing 7-year-old. throughout the neighborhood investigators are handing out this new flier showing for the first time the face of dede spicher, a close friend of kyron's stepmother. neither woman has been charged with a crime. search teams are also going over yet again thick, wooded areas close to kyron's school. investigators are holding today's news conference because they received new tips that there may have been another adult in terri horma

stepmom, since the day that kyron vanished.ows what is going on with her since ten then dede is the one. and she says terri horman did not hurt the 7-year-old. in the interview with "people" magazine, terri horman's close friend, dede spicher, describes kyron's stepmother almost as if she is the victim. there's this horror that my friend is going through, she says. if i thought for a second that she was capable of foul play, i would not have been there. she would not have been my friend in the first place. >> dede didn't really talk about what she thinks the police are looking for. she just said that she has been questioned really intensely. >> reporter: while not calling either woman a suspect, police have clearly focused on horman and spicher. recently passing out a flyer, asking residents if they saw the two together the day kyron disappeared. the flyer includes a picture of horman's white pickup, which terri was reportedly driving that day. spicher says, authorities are out to get her friend. they wanted me to tell them tha

that she herself never left that property the day of kyron's disappearance.eaction to all of this information? >> well, it's interesting that dede spicher would tell her story to "people" magazine but yet she's unwilling to tell it to the local community here. the words she used, by the way, if a way kind of put herself in a bind because she's claiming she never left this 38-acre parcel she was gardening on that morning and yet she knows terri horman was not involved on the same morning, which would be impossible for her to prove. the big issue here is that dede spicher initially, when she first popped up on the public radar, she distanced herself from terri horman saying she's cooperating and has nothing to do with terri, et cetera and now she seems to be joined at the hip as a part of the terri horman fan club. >> right. is there something in this that indicates something -- was she not contactable, a three, four-hour time period where people couldn't get ahold of her? >> on the day kyron went missing. the key timeses are in that midmorning area. the people

they met at a coffee shop the morning kyron disappeared. line for terri's whereabouts. erica. >> thanks. >>> joining us cbs news analyst jack ford in to help us with this one as well. as mentioned, a press conference is to be held later today. what do you expect that we're going to get out of that? >> i think what you're going to see is the investigators are going to release perhaps just a few more details that they hope might jog some people's memories. generally speaking if you're investigating a disappearance in any type of criminal case you always want to hold back facts. you don't want the public to know everything you know. this way if somebody comes in and wants to confess, you can use that as a gauge, do they know details nobody else knows about you as an investigator. sometimes you have to feed some out slowly if you're not making headway. we're more than two months from his disappearance. my guess is you'll see other details then you'll see a request. if these help you at all. if you saw any of these people. if any of this sounds

police say she is not a suspect but was the last person to see kyron.s failed two polygraph tests. and has been uncooperative. you believe he may be stashed somewhere. is that a mother's intuition or is that based on information that you have? >> no, i don't have any information to tell me that. i just feel a certain way and i have instincts. i think he's being stashed or he would be here. >> reporter: do you believe that she has help from someone? >> i as a logical person think that. >> reporter: in fact, just last week, one of terri's closest friends, ded spicher, was called to testify before the grand jury. they believe she is aiding teri. >> i think all we want for her to do is cooperate with law enforcement. she just needs to bring it forward. >> reporter: what do you miss the most about seeing him? >> he's a very affectionate kid. he has been since he was a baby. just the random hugs. and the -- the sounds and -- >> yeah. >> i always -- he has the short air. i always run my fingers through his hair. just that every day -- just that everyday stuff.
