this was about 60 miles east of l.a. it's in san bernardino county. now, this fire is about the size of san francisco. more than 80,000 people are evacuating as smoke and ash smother entire neighborhoods. an unknown number of homes have been destroyed and this could be obl the beginning. many bay area fire crews are being reassigned to help battle flames. a man and woman drove through the heart of this fire on highway 38 capturing cell phone video. authorities have since closed the highway and also, interstate 15 is closed, the main route between l.a. and las vegas. >>> in lake county tonight, more progress in the battle against the clayton fire and more evacuations lifted. meantime, the man accused of setting the devastating fire made his first appearance in court. charged with multiple counts of arson. jodi hernandez is live in lake port with more and you obtained documents detailing what led to his arrest. >> that's right. investigators wouldn't talk about the evidence they've collected except to say it's strong, but it's all spelled out in in deve

the l.a. times found that before this weekend there were at least 24 confirmed drug-related destinationwide over the last 10 -- deaths nationwide over the last 10 years and that's just raves organized by l.a. area companies. last year a 24-year-old san francisco man died at an electronic dance music festival in las vegas. ecstasy is a common drug used at these types of raves. it can lead to severe illness, coma and death and cause body temperatures to rise. this weekend temperatures in fontana were in the 90s which can also lead to dehydration. officials tell us nine people in total were rushed to hospitals for medical reasons from the hard summer music festival. the coroner's office says that these three deaths are unrelated and they are being investigated separately. >> thank you, betty. >>> the search is on for a bay area college student who disappeared in the oregon wilderness. 21-year-old riley zickle went missing wednesday. >> he does not know this area, but he's a very experienced backp
