we got l.a. county. here we go. >> okay. >> l.a. county, first thing you say, 60% of all votes in largest by far county in california just came in here. 10 million people in l.a. county, quarter of all votes statewide come out of it, 60% of it, heavily democratic. compare to last november. donald trump got 27% of the vote in l.a. county. right now in the mail, most of the mail vote from l.a. county, recall is running about 24% support. a few points under what donald trump got last november. again the target for this thing to be succeeding statewide in county as big as los angeles, recall has to be near 40% support in place like los angeles county. it's 24% with 2 million votes already counted. give you the exact numbers for comparison. in 2020 when we got this batch of votes in los angeles county, mail-in, donald trump was running 20%. donald trump got 20% with this batch of votes in los angeles county, this is what he ended up with, 27%. grew from the same day vote, from the late mail vote, other stuff not counted yet, seven points

l.a.you today about the response that you're now getting from parents. what are you hearing? i'm sure some, at least, are pushing back. >> yeah, the main thing i'm hearing from parents is an appreciation that we're doing everything we can to keep kids safe and in-person for schooling. and that's the irony i think in this country right now, districts that have flouted safety precautions are the ones where the schools have to close either for a few days or few weeks at a time. l.a. unified, we've been leading the nation with weekly testing, mask mandates, and air filtration upgrades. now this vaccination requirement so that kids can stay in-person and schools can remain open. so most parents have been gratified that we're doing that so schools don't have to close after the 18 months of trauma that kids have had. there are parents who are concerns. some i think are in that wait and see approach, who wanted to see how the year shaked out. we have over 60% of kids in los angeles who are already

and it's not just l.a.the state of california there are more than 70 elected officials who are facing the threat of recall just this year. because that's how they do it in california. california asks for recalls all the time. you can mount a recall campaign against any statewide elected official for any reason at all if you can achieve the grand results of collecting signatures from just 12% of people who voted in the last election for that seat. not 12% of registered voters but 12% of the number of people who voted in the last election for that seat specifically. that's all you need to be able to get that statewide elected official put up for recall. as low bars go this is kind of so low it just sits there on the floor and invites you to walk on it. and so every governor in california for the past 60 years has faced at least one attempt to recall them. and you will of course recall the successful 2003 recall of democratic california governor gray davis. that's how we ended up bizarrely with governor arnold
