live pictures from la fayette. this is one of more than a dozen drivers getting a really rude awakening this morning during their commute, flat tires. we'll tell you what caused the problem coming up in a live report. we drove through that area this morning. >> oh, yeah. wow. >> welcome. i'm tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. >>> let's also talk about your weather as well as traffic. steve is right over there. >> thank you. a lot of fog around. low clouds. kind of misty, drizzly for some. i know there's reports coming in san francisco. a lot of kind of wet streets around. our recent rain has set the stage under calm conditions. mostly clear skies above. you get the temperature, dew point coming together and that radiation fog can be thick, thick, thick. it will also be hazy and humid. very muggy conditions out here. temperatures already in the mid- 50s and it won't take long to get in the upper 60s or so 70s. a little bit taller order in the north bay. 57 livermore. 56 oakland. 57 sfo. san jose, 56. it's really warm

it looks like la fayette out to clayton.ch, baypoint and probably just near oakley as well and then up into mendocino county, lake county still going up there as well. it looks like things are calming down a little bit. there were reports. widespread 2-inch amounts to the north. 50s on the temperatures. i don't think they've budged all morning long. that's drier air coming in. i think by 9:00, we'll be all done. there's two lows here. it's called vertically stacked. it goes from the surface to the upper atmosphere. we don't see that often. this one may swing in. the projection is to bring the low and surface low in which would give us a very windy pattern. i think really heavy rain from santa cruz mountains south. we'll fine tune it tomorrow. everybody will be in this rain. sunday looks better. this is a wind forecast what i want to show you, we'll get closer to it. a high wind watch will be up graded to a warning. right there we'll see gusts probably approaching 50 for some. just so you know. it will be tonight into tomorro

there's some cells beginning to sink toward la fayette. there will be some tomorrow when a cold front finally pushes through. this is what is happening. this impressive cloud, this is the pineapple express. this is moving toward the west coast and as it gets into our neighborhood, we're going to pull more rain out of this. first up north and for the entire bay area as the day progresses tomorrow. right now, the numbers on the balmy side. they haven't changed much. with this warm subtropical flow. the snow levels as powell pointed out, very high. above 7,000 feet. wind gusts with this at the very peek of the sierra, 75 miles per hour. as you take i-80 out, if you don't have to go, it's going to be a mess driving up to the sierra or coming back tomorrow. massive epic delays on 80. in the north bay, flood alerts possible. flash flood watch posted for marin and sonoma counties with rapid rises on small rivers and streams with this new inflex of moisture coming through. the ground is saturated. won't cause much rain for the creeks to rise. you

you can kind of see it up near the la fayette b.a.r.t. station. the traffic is very slow from the 680 interchange and breaks free after that. this is adding a little bit of time to your commute. maybe 15 -- well, if it normally takes you ten, it will probably take you 15, 20 to get through. after the stalled vehicle, there is a break free until you get to the orinda crossroads. the bay bridge toll plaza, 30- minute plus delay getting into san francisco because -- it's just kind of a normal wednesday morning on that bridge. i want to mention the south bay, i have the big problem where the power lines are down at stevens creek boulevard. they've closed the stevens creek offramp from 880. they don't want any traffic there. ktvu's janine de la vega has arrived on the scene. she will have a live report coming up very shortly. 7:20. let's go to steve. >>> thank you. nice picture here. i will get out of the way. sunrise here. we'll have some sun in the morning. clouds on the increase. by this afternoon, this evening, we'll go from mostly sunny, partly cl

la fayette looking slow westbound going through the caldecott tunnel and we'll tell you about muni delays in san francisco. back to the desk. >> thank you, tara. >>> we're following developing news out of san francisco where a man and a woman were stabbed right along the embarcadero. ktvu channel 2 reporter brian flores is live with an interesting development. brian, police cleared the scene and came back and set up more crime tape. >> reporter: that's exactly right. police cleared the scene about an hour ago. half an hour ago police came back, blocked off the scene here and they are back here looking for evidence and hopefully looking for any more witnesses. this stabbing around 4:15 this morning. police continue to look for at least one suspect. now, police say that a man and woman were here at the embarcadero when they got into some type of altercation with another man. it's unclear what led to the altercation. that suspect pulled out a knife and stashed both of them before taking -- stabbed both of them before taking off. the male victim was stabbed in the chest an walked to sacrament

how are things on 24 in la fayette? bit better than they were. 24 itself has improved a little bit. i think a lot of the commute has already passed through. so we're looking like a normal 8 to 10-minute drive between la fap yet and walnut creek -- la fayette and walnut creek. b.a.r.t. is on time. b.a.r.t. has been doing pretty well all morning. a couple of minor things. but it's a good way to get to work today. bay bridge toll plaza, we have a backup of 25 plus minutes. it's improved. at the peak, it was more like 40. we are gating better -- getting better for the drive time. if you are driving on 80, 80 itself in solano looks okay 80 coming out to hercules and pinole has been slow from the very start of the morning because of earlier issues. we've had some minor crashes but the major damage was done earlier this morning. it's taken about 40 minutes to drive this stretch. >>> let's go to steve. >> a lot of cloud cover over us. thank you, sal. mostly cloudy forecast. a lot of high and mid-clefl clouds. temperatures 40 to

bottomed out to 28 in santa rosa. 48 pittsburgh, 47 in brentwood, we're looking at 37 in la fayette.w. 42 degrees reported in castro valley. as we get into the afternoon, mostly sunny, cool, a little brisk along the coast today. we'll have that northerly breeze for us for the second half. we are mostly clear now but this is the system that we continue to watch. yesterday, it looked like it was gonna move inland and then it looked like it was going to move south. it will continue to move south but at this point, the models want to bring it a little bit farther inland and bring us the possibility of scattered showers on sunday. take a look. at 7:00 in the morning, as we get going tomorrow morning, western's mostly cloudy. we shouldn't be as chilly tomorrow morning. our temperatures will be up. we'll be in the sunshine tomorrow. we have rain here along the sonoma coast along the peninsula. perhaps across the peninsula by about 8:00 and then as i shift it once again into 10:00, it's moving into the east bay. maybe popping into san jose. keeping in mind the sent ernt of circulation is sli

la fayette, san ramon, alamo, back to hayward, things are picking up. like a break out towards antioch and highway 4. there have been reports of light rain but nothing too crazy up towards napa county and sonoma county and marin. but north in the mendocino county/lake county, it's been quiet so far. 50s on the temperatures. 55 half moon bay. 56 sfo, 56 mountain view. rainfall will be pretty good here. it will favor areas to the south as we head towards friday and saturday. friday's system looks like a very strong wind producer. we'll get rain out of it, too. generally around 1 to 3, 4 inches. possibility of isolated areas of 5, towards monterey. what i like is back here. there's strong development here. i think that could lead to severe weather later today. this is a wind forecast. i know it's very pretty. very colorful. carrie will like this. she's into colors. what you need to know, once you see the orange osh red -- or red, that will be strong gusts. watch what happens on friday. that's pretty strong. there will be a surface low coming in. that's rea

there's the band that went over to concord, la fayette as well. it looks like santa cruz. the heaviest rain is going into the santa cruz mountains. some of that is heading into san jose as well. really intense activity. you might get a break for a little bit. as long as this low is off the coast, we're in line for brief, heavy rain. i think ponding and flooding will continue this afternoon. the heaviest rainfall looks to be in the santa cruz mountains as we heed into tonight and tomorrow -- head into tonight and tomorrow. rain and wind here. heaviest for the morning. but there will be a possibility of very unsettled conditions. highs today, only upper 50s and lower 60s. here's sal. >>> steve, we've had a lot of weather-related traffic incidents flooding on the roads, people driving into standing water. it mostly happened when it was dark. 580 is a mess coming in from the altamont pass. as the wet weather moved through, you saw more people getting into crashes. niles canyon road, fremont police out there with a closure because of mudslide in the area and it's been very slow
