in lafayette, zac sos.x two news. >> firefighters are making progress in the wildfires in southern california, but tonight, the fight is far from over, with yet another round of strong, gusty winds potentially hitting the region next week. the story does begin tonight's west coast rap. tonight, the l.a. county coroner is reporting 27 people have died in all the fires. 31 people have been reported missing. today, the fire in pacific palisades and malibu is now 22% contained at 23,000 acres in altadena, the eaton fire is 55% contained. it has burned more than 14,000 acres. evacuation orders still affecting more than 82,000 homes. the good news is that firefighters are seeing little to no growth in the size of these fires. they are taking advantage of this time to strengthen the containment lines, and cal fire is really urging people to clear brush within 200ft of their homes to prevent new fires from starting. officials say some evacuees will have to wait at least another week to return to their neighborhoods
