it is the union square of lafayette park. everybody agrees each other there. it is a major central area of the park. if you look at the new plan, it is gone. there is no plaza. we now have a 15-foot pass away where that was common -- pathway where that was. people say, where are we going to meet? in the rain there 20 or 30 of us walking our dog. that is the only dry place we have to go. the picnic area and now is a perfect area. we are going to put it right next to the swap way so the picnic people have a place to go. we remove this crosswalks of the people here now have to walk on the walkway. we have a traffic issue i do not believe has been addressed properly by the planners. >> is that everything you wanted to say? >> there has to be some provision made to enlarge that and put the applause of back in somehow. -- put the plaza back in somehow. the picnic is a perfectly flat area. the new one is on a hill. you do not put picnic areas on sloped ground. >> did you want to ask a question? let me ask you a question. i am giving you extra time because you spend fo

related to the renovation of lafayette park, it is one of the full renovation project under the 2008 neighborhood park bond. the project site is 11.4 acres. the total bond budget for this project -- the funding was released with our second bond sale. the project was initiated in april of this year. the project schedule contemplates construction to commence in the spring of 2012, when the project to be open to the public in december of 2013. the scope of this project includes repair and renovation. it includes renovation of the existing programs bases including the children's play area and the designated off- leash dog play area. there are two existing structures, a gardner's office and a restroom building. these were constructed under the federal works program and are eligible for historic status. work on those buildings will consist primarily of restoration of the exterior of the building. upgrading is located at the summit of the park. we gad tgree -- three well- attended community meetings. we spoke about our plan for the project -- and there were goals and ideas that were outside
