of lafco. work on finding an oval our sources and funding and enabling power to be distributed in a clean way during the power crisis. i was the environmental lawyer for the university of california system. i also worked on their sustainability efforts, which resulted in most of the canvases -- all of the campuses, creating sustainability efforts, including clean power and renew ability resources. just coming up with all sorts of innovative ways to try to make the campus is more sustainable. i am now the chief counsel of the california coastal commission, where i have been for the last four years, and the california coastal commission is very concerned with california's environment, with global warming, with sustainability on the coast in a particular. as a longtime san francisco resident, i'm very concerned with how all of that affects san francisco and with our opportunity to really look for and moved into a clean power in the city. so with that, thank you. commissioner mirkarimi: thank you.

and lafco, again, on july 9. one big area that was changed is clarification in the scoring, specifically in making it very explicit that the oral scoring -- the oral interview, those scores will be associated with the same elements that are being scored for the written portion. and just as a reminder in terms of the process for the r.f.p., the first step is evaluating that the firms have -- that proposals meet the minimum qualifications in order to be scored. should they not meet any of those minimum qualifications, they would be rejected as not sufficient. the second stage is the written evaluation, where the points are allocated based upon their responses, ability to achieve the goals as stated in the r.f.p. and the highest-scoring firms would then be invited for oral interviews. and there are points allocated for the oral interview process. those oral interviewpoints would be associated with the same key elements described in the written proposal section, and there are also some points for l.b.e. outreach effo

and lafco have been doing this year. focusing on the negotiations. finding the lessons learned from that process and being open. we don't have an opinion one way or the other about r.f.p. or splitting out the renewables work. we should point out that we are an advocate. we've long been involved in this process. mr. brooks does not speak for all the advocates. we're not all of one mind on this. we take great issue of him speaking for an alliance that we helped put together a number of years ago, which does not have an opinion in this matter today. so it's not possible for him to speak for an alliance or for members of that alliance, including sierra club. we hope that you get this r.f.p. out and that staff focuses on getting also the r.f.o. out as soon as possible. so we hope that this gets some good comments and responses from the marketplace, see what is it that we can get the market to do. this is an ambitious program, and we feel that the staff of both agencies here have been working well together and coming up with trying to keep this moving forw
