last year the local area formation commission, lafco, studied how other jurisdictions filled vacancies in vacant offices. one unique san francisco's appointment process is the mayor has discretion to [speaker not understood] to fill vacancy. that process let alone the democratic process for how the mayor makes these [speaker not understood]. there are no time constraints when the mayor make these appointments. so what we did was we looked at the money we had left over in lafco which is 1.8. we identified cuts which is 700 one 1-year and $660,000 the next year and then out of the $13 million they just held $800,000 to come up with that $4 million mark. so, we were able to work that out. the other part that they identified was in year 2 for the solar, to go solar, they wanted to make a commitment of the $5 million that $3 million be earmarked or prioritized for cca can ustomers if we are able to launch a cca. that was a caveat. the other last piece is they wanted to have a commitment from the mayor's office to have a hearing this month. we are planning for the end of june meeting to talk about marin and sonoma cca and work closely with supervisors on the details of that hearing. that is where we are now. is there anything i missed? and so, the board of directors had a conversation to ensure nothing got lost in translation. we are going to present that tomorrow. >> are you shaking out there? we were making this on the pathway of doing this charter amendment back a couple years ago when lafco had done the study on vacancies and it was really about having a stable way we can move forward on filling these vacancies. my experience on the board, especially when it came to making the appointment of the interim mayor was one i will never forget and one that i felt didn't live up to what san francisco is truly about. i really feel we can do something better and putting the right to fill vacancies in the hands of voters i think really, will really help in that process. so colleagues i really hope to have your support. >> supervisor tang. >> thank you, supervisor avalos and of course everyone who came out to speak. i made a series of comments last week, so i will not repeat those. but i will say is that for me especially as someone who has gone through now, i am going through two elections within two years, i feel this charter amendment is a little bit of a misnomer because i am sitting here as an elected official. i would challenge people if you do want a democratic election that
