. >>> let's begin with nbc's george solis at new york's laguardia airport. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. as you can see, already many are getting a head start on their holiday travel days before thanksgiving. here, people slowly starting to trickle in. we saw lines forming this morning and we expect that to ramp up in the couple of days. it's expected to move fairly seamlessly because according to the tsa, there's about 17 million people now signed up for pre-check, about 4 million more than this time last year. fortunately, at least so far today, we're only looking at a handful of cancellations, but the busiest times to fly are yet to come. not surprising, the tuesday and wednesday before thanksgiving, the tsa expecting to screen about 2.5 million. the sunday after, a whopping 2.9 million people expected to be screened. hopefully they'll be well fed by that point. back on the ground, aaa says a lot of drivers will have company. an estimated 49 million or so expected on the roadways. some good news, gas prices expected to be a lot cheaper,
