program manager for the laguna honda hospital replacement program. you have a resolution requesting approval for the modification of the services agreement. our last modification provided for services through the anticipated completion of the new buildings at laguna honda. these were substantially completed during 2010 and approved for occupancy by the office of statewide health, planning, and development in november 2010. the facility is now occupied since december. this modification now provides for services for the next phase of work, completion of the remodel of the wing of the existing facility. that remodel, which includes provision of seismic upgrades as well as electrical and mechanical and other improvements. this is anticipated -- this phase of the work is anticipated to be complete in 2012, whereupon the program will then undertake final site of fruit -- improvements and abatement and demolition of wings. i'm happy to answer any questions you may have. supervisor chu: thank you. mr. rose. >> as we point out on page four of our report under

we finished laguna honda hospital. we are now building a new police quarters in mission bay and renovating more than a dozen fire stations around the city. good news on the capital front. the other area of responsibility for the department of public works is the design, construction, repair, maintenance regulation of the public rights of way, namely the streets and sidewalks of the city. the picture is not as good. in terms of the capital side street resurfacing, the mayor and board in the last few years have made significant investments, but we do not have a sustainable source of revenue to continue improving the conditions of our streets. the capital planning committee approved in the proposed capital plan that went to the board and was approved a general obligation bond for this november, november 2011, to provide funding for us to reduce the backlog of street repairs. if that gets on to the ballot, look for that in november as a way that would help us address the street repair backlog, which the capital plan then r

after completing the programs, i was placed at laguna honda in november 2008, my first job. i am honored to be a successful citybuild graduate, as well as a san francisco resident. i really want to thank former mayor gavin newsom for putting together these city-funded programs for people like myself to the tent and successfully complete, and also be living proof that when you complete these types of programs, and when they are in the fact, you can get a job, you can work, and you can be a part of san francisco's redevelopment. i have been at san francisco handicap -- san francisco hospital. we had been doing handicapped ramps there. i am proud to also be a member of local 261. when i am out of work, it is only a short amount of time. in make sure they get me back up and running, as i need to be. i have four daughters that i am raising. being a single mother with four girls, having the ability to get successful employment is just wonderful for me. one of my goals is to be able to send my daughters off to college to be successful so that they can go to whatever employment fiel
