the diversion and integration program was a result of a lawsuit against the city resulted to laguna honda hospital, and as part of that settlement and as part of the great work that was done during that period of time a data system was created that allowed the team to look at what was happening in terms of resources and supports, what were the wants and needs of the consumer involved and so on. in the last year that data system had been turned off because the lawsuit was over and a new mou needed to be developed with the health department to share information. i wanted to report today that we're close to finalizing that mou and everyone will be pleased about, certainly we will be in the department and i am sure the long-term care coordinating council will be as well and hoping it sets the stage for other data sharing opportunities and i think in just the last thing i wanted to report that you can see from this report and other reports you can see we're have been spending the full $3 million the first years we didn't do that because we were organizing and implementing the program and now w

itself at about 50% of the total or out of the hospital fund so we have two hospital funds for laguna honda and san francisco general hospital. the largest contract is with ucsf to provide services at the general hospital so that is a fund subsidized by the general fund so between the general fund and the hospital really about 80% of the spending on non-profit services comes from the general fund or its related funds. of course we have about 25% of spending here comes out of other special revenue funds and i think the best example here is the childrens fund which supports a vast array of services, a are provided by non-profit organizations and sits outside the general fund. i thought this would be helpful because of course one of the things we're talking about here is things that prevent funding at levels that folks may deem ideal and of course the general fund itself is usually financially more strapped than other funds so for a bit of context. this reflects our total spending on non-profit organizations or through non-profit organizations on services they provide. over the last six year p

before she just realized she couldn't do it anymore and went into a palliative care program at laguna honda and what kind of team support her mom got as well as her from the folks there. the second woman that presented was from the african-american community here in the city and she too had her siblings were taking care of her mom and she spoke just eloquently about her experience of care giving, both at home and then with the palliative care team that she worked with, and i have to say she had knowledge of palliative care because she worked in that world, so she had a little leg up on some of the rest of us and the third person that spoke was a caucasian woman like myself who had experienced palliative care team support herself because she had had a tremendous illness that affected her, and i have to say that those three relatively short presentations spoke so eloquently to the folks in the room and it was wonderful i think for everyone to see how much their experiences actually ended up in this document because so much of the richness of the recommendations really was around this idea of
