this is lake erie. just gone through totality, over four minutes of what was an incredible four minutes. we went from day to night. it was very cold. there were cheers, deborah fireworks over lake erie, which you can hear behind me. almost a beautiful sunset out on the water. it could not have been any more beautiful. we saw the full corona, and also what we were hoping for, the flares of the chromosphere as well, those red areas from the high activity of the sun and an area where we have not seen a full solar eclipse since 1 806, over 200 years. we won't see another one for over 400 years. we started the day in mexico, where there was totality. then going on to texas, which has gone through totality. here in ohio, coming out the other side, perhaps you notice the light changing as i speak. and then we will go on to niagara falls, up to the border there with canada as well. a very rare event in terms of a contiguous solar eclipse going across all of the states. people are really lucky this time around i

you get up along lake erie and lake ontario and portions of upstate new york. there is some very dense cloud cover as we currently speak. it does cut off very quickly. you get into areas of upstate interior new england. vermont, new hampshire, maine. suddenly, it is completely sunny once again and you're looking at really clear skies and totality will once again looking really good. new york city is going to be more on the border line as far as if you see sun sign or a little bit of ground cover. we are not going to be 100%. that is 89% total coverage of the sun with the moon. still a fantastic show. i do want to jump right back down to texas really quick. i showed you the path. we are also looking at a risk for severe storms release will not happen until totality ultimately moves on through these areas. a ton of people are floating through this region. there is a decent risk of seeing some real severe weather as you get into the evening and the overnight hours. if you are watching this location and traveling, know that storms could be big and bad isolated torn
