it's just east of lake merritt.y has been talking about building a dog park here on this property for about 10 years now. it would be called the lakeview dog play area. and today, the park's commission is set to vote on that as well as an alternative because there's a lot of folks in the neighborhood that do not want the dog park here. they are concerned it's going to make a green area brown and obviously cause more traffic and noise around the area. so they have proposed a different site, at the old police horse stables near children's fairyland. that's kind of in an old oak grove. it's more out of view. the dog park proponents say this will take forever for that to come to fruition because it's taken 10 years for them to get this plan this far. here's what they are looking at doing. it would be a cost of up to $40,000, needing to install a fence, concrete perimeter, landscaping, wood chips and deep trash cans to hide what comes with dogs. it would be the same cost either location. but they just need to figure out
