lake tahoe received a dusting. temperature-wise, a little bit on the cool side especially for the afternoon because of all the cloud cover. typically 70 degrees yesterday. tahoe about 48 degrees or so. but the overnight lows not too bad, right about freezing for most of the tahoe area when average is 36 degrees this time of year. at home we have since cleared out. yesterday we had a lot of wind. we had our temperatures on the cool side. we even had a few thunderstorms over the north bay pop up late in the afternoon. but it is moving out of the area. and in its place we are going to have a big warm-up come our way. here is a look at some of the rainfall amounts that we saw over portions of the north bay and into the sacramento valley and a lake county is where we saw most of this. south of that, not a whole lot. ben lomond reported .02. vacaville, .37, and novato reported a third of an inch. fairfield, almost a quarter inch. for tomorrow warmer weather, sick at the coast, low 80s expected for our inland communities.

the alameda county sheriff's department needs help finding a man who went missing in lake tahoe.deputies say dan pham got in his kayak last thursday at lester beach and has not been seen since. his brother is a sheriffs deputy in alameda county. search efforts by the el dorado county sheriff, the u-s coast guard and state agencies were unable to find him. the weather caused major problems for athletes competing in the "escape from alcatraz" triathlon. for the first time in the race's history, the swimming portion of the competition was canceled because of dangerous currents in the bay. the triathlon turned into a biathlon about an hour before the race yesterday. a news conference will be held later this morning to address the raiders move to las vegas. the group "stand with oakland" is now working with several sports lawyers to fight the nfl's decision to move the oakland raiders to las vegas. the group says their focus is on keeping professional football in oakland.
