the surface of lake tahoe is warm compared to the colder air above it when you get the strong winds, mid air is able to develop into a narrow band of heavier snow showers. we have lake-effect snow happening right now. back here at home the wind is the headline. i showed you the winds for livermore already in the low 40s today with a 30 mile-per-hour wind. if we put some numbers up santa rosa has already been up to 41 and then it will start to calm down for the majority of us. it is going to stay windy in the mountains. we are only in the low 70s right now. here is how things will play out tonight. once we get past sunset, and the winds are call murder. mt. hamilton is still gusting up to near 40. even tomorrow there is still enough wind with the reduced amount of humidity which does it change. tomorrow we will go back down into the mid-40s and everybody else will stay comfortable. it is the low 70s for many locations and as we take a look at the seven-day forecast, we will look at san jose first. you will notice the warming trend with daytime highs into the lower 80s. for the east bay
