every mile you drive farther north is going to push temperatures higher above 100 from ukiah to lakeport. the hot, hot weather is not that far away from the rest of the bay area. the haze overhead is still going to be with us. it's going to filter sunshine a little. it's not going to have any effect on the temperatures and not really settle down to ground level that's going impact our air quality other than a dip into the moderate category for the north bay and inland into the east bay at worst for most of the day tomorrow. going to see plenty of green dots on the air quality map. in terms of threat of any new fires developing, it's never zero unless it's early in the morning when the marine layer is far inland. it does climb as we head into the afternoon. pretty typical values for late july. this is about the best this map looks in late july, topping out around a 4 or 5 on our fire danger index that could be a whole lot worse with such dry fire fuels. temperatures are not going to change a whole lot as we head through the weekend into early next week. just wiggling around a little bit.

farther north in sonoma and napa counties, it's going to get warmer and flat-out hotter by ukiah and lakeport. farther north a slightly elevated fire threat, but not out of control. the highest values in the zero to 10 index only to around 4 or 5 for solano county, parts of contra costa county and alameda county. the usual trouble spots. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast. not much change to our temperatures day to day. especially near the water. hovering in the mid 60s in san francisco. and right around 70 for oakland. low to mid 80s in san jose. the one change you will notice is more cloud cover overhead, especially by friday, saturday and sunday with the next push of monsoonal moisture. but without anything to trigger pop-up showers or thunderstorms, we're going to see the clouds as opposed to any dry lightning threats into those fire fuels. we'll keep an eye on it just in case. that's usually the big trouble make their time of year. >> hopefully, it stays pretty safe here in the bay area, especially with all the fires popping up around us. >> we're going have to watch the sierra
