in oakland, someone broke into a nail spa on lakeshore avenue sometime over the weekend . a resident shared pictures of the shattered windows there. the thieves got away with the cash register here as well. that resident also said he tried to report the break in to the non-emergency line for oakland police, but ended but ended up hanging up the phone after it rang for about ten minutes without anyone picking it up. the shop was closed over the weekend for the lunar new year, but eventually the owners arrived and dealt with the damage. a man has been sentenced to probation after being convicted in a crash that killed former ktvu news director fred zender. alameda police say that 33 year old michael williams was driving under the influence when he hit zender. it happened when zender was walking in a crosswalk at lincoln avenue and walnut street back in june of 2021, williams pleaded no contest to felony vehicular manslaughter. he was sentenced to more than two years in jail last month, but he was released from custody for time served. williams was placed on three years proba
