jack/lam: senator chuck grassley spoke to media earlier today about the president's decision to let syrian refugees into the u.s. dozens of governors -- including iowa governor branstad -- are saying they'll bar syrian refugees from their states. they're worried that terrorists could masquerade as refugees to get into the u-s. senator grassley agrees with them-- and says governor branstad is in quote "good company with those other governors." jack/lam the red cross is asking for caution after helping out at more than a dozen fires across the state since last friday. here's a look at where those fires were. red cross officials say as the weather gets colder, more people are using space heaters -- which are the second leading cause of home fire deaths. to keep safe in the winter months - the red cross has a few tips for you. all heaters need space -- so keep other items like paper, pets and children at least three feet away. never leave a fire in a fireplace unattended -- and always use a fire screen. never use a cook top or oven to heat your home. and always plug space heaters directly into an outlet -- don't use an extension cord. jack: back here in the metro -- police are trying to figure out how a fire was started in the men's bathroom of a restaurant. crews were called to malo monday night, after an employee smelled smoke in the men's bathroom the employee says he found the trash knocked over and a fire by the toilet. the fire was quickly put out -- an investigation is ongoing. jack coming up on local 5 news at six. we
