as lamar mentioned, we've got the forgotten 15 bills that have passed the house of representatives, many with broad bipartisan support and we'd like to be able to take those up over here. but they seem to be intent on the political strategy rather than the one that actually is going to lead us to job growth. >> government regulations continue to make it harder and more expensive for the private sector to create jobs. last week, five different departments of this administration said no, no, it's not the regulations, they're not a problem. just to remind them of a recent gallup poll that's come out, when you ask small business owners, what is their biggest concern, their biggest concern are regulations coming out of washington. and in just this past month in october alone, there have been 265 new final regulations at a cost to the american job creators and american people over $5 billion, that's approximately one new regulation every three hours. on a second matter, i want to talk a little bit about freddie mac and fannie maye. the american taxpayers know that they have -- and fannie may.

we'll hear from senator mike enzi, dick durbin, and lamar al exander. this is 20 minutes. >> i'm going to talk about a problem that i've tried to solve for 14 years, and today i think we have a new solution and the solution. this has to do with sales taxes that are not being collected at the present time. it's a little loophole in the tax law. i used to be a retailers, and i never thought that it was fair that i had to collect the sales taxes, but the people from out of state didn't have to collect the sales tax. i used to be a mayor, and this bill that we have is a jobs bill and an infrastructure bill. a lot of people don't realize that sales tax helps pay for schools and police and firemen. they may not realize it pays for infrastructure like streets and suers. i always tell people that it's a little tough to flush your toilet over the internet, but this bill would allow states, not require states, to be able to have the out of state online salers, provided they sell more than $500,000 in a year to collect the sales tax. in the state legislature, and

arizona who for his hard work in pushing this through the subcommittee and full committee and chairman lamar smith for his leadership too. my colleagues, the simple right to defend your loved ones from criminals is fundamental. and it's not extinguished when you simply cross a state border. this bill recognizes this important fact by establishing the interstate recognition of concealed-carry permits in much the same way drivers' license are recognized. now, under this legislation, lawfully issued permits will be recognized in all states that also issue carry permits. there are now 49 states that issue these permits. most of these states also recognize permits issued from at least some other states. while some states recognize all valid permits issued by any state. but herein simply lies the problem. the nonuniformity of the laws regarding reciprocity makes it difficult for law-abiding permit holders to know for sure if they are obeying the law as they travel from state to state. while preserving the power of the states to set the rules on where concealed firearms can be carried, this bill wi
