it happened in avenue j 7 in the lancaster neighborhood. the deputy and sheriff were taken to area hospital. the lancaster mayor is say that the deputy had been shot in the face and he was in grave condition. he did not name who the deputy was. this is a serious situation that has been happening. the suspect did flee. additional police showed up at the scene, it's unclear whether the suspect was shot. the police set up a perimeter as a search for the suspect. right there, you see the s.w.a.t. officer they were dispatched to the scene. the authorities were warning the public to stay away from the area. again, we are tracking the story. the suspect was seen running through the backyard of a home. he put his arms up. again students at the local antelope valley college tweeting they too heard gunshots in the area and the camp us there is about a mile from the scene of the shooting. the college asked the students to shelter in place, avoid the area, await further instructions. other schools in the area were on lockdown. you see the activity happ

last hour, 67 now in lancaster.t's 77 in reading, 77 in wilmington. you can see the upper 70's across the majority of our area. the exception beach haven cape may with that easterly wind a little bit cooler since the water temperature is only in the upper 60's. right now as we look at october, so far we're again more than halfway through the month, we're running 4 degrees above normal and precipitation we're down about an inch from that normal, so we can kick these temperatures down a little bit to get a little more fall feeling around here and also we need the desperately need some rain around here. we'll get a little bit of it tonight. again you can see some of that rain entering from the west. the clouds are about to push into parts of western chester county, eastern berks county and again we're not looking at thunderstorms overnight but it is going to be some scattered showers entering philadelphia, delaware, southern new jersey, lehigh valley by 9 o'clock tonight and notice the drop in at that into the 50's at

we have an accident in west philadelphia at forty-third and lancaster avenue.it involves a septa route ten trolley, trolley or bus they were using at the time on the route ten line was rear ended by a vehicle as that bus was stopped at the corner to make a pick up. we have one person, now from the vehicle, one person from the bus, taken to a local hospital and another accident here, this is on the atlantic city expressway right where 42 freeway ends and expressway begins right here, one vehicle up and over the guardrail and in the grassy median that has been out here a couple hours. the road are wet, slippery, even though we don't that have driving rain that we had yesterday with the wipers working. everything is still wet and problem is those wet leaves that have fallen from the trees and matted on the roadway. the that is like trying to stop on ice. 295 north a crash at florence columbus interchange. heading to the airport hang on we have delays at jfk, departure delays up to 45 minutes. that will have a domino effect here in philadelphia mike and alex, back
