our land use initiatives include things such as the interpreter center that will be located in sunol, which is a unique opportunity for us to educate our neighbors about our services. the center will also be open and available and accessible for community members and provide space for educational programming and arts, etc our education initiatives remain from a partnership with san francisco unified school district as well as partnerships we are doing with san francisco state and also with the sustainable agricultural education program, which is in alameda county. i want to take just a quick moment to go a little bit deeper to give you two examples of how our community benefit programming takes place on the ground. the first program i wanted to share with you -- to tell you about is our led streetlight community -- led streetlight conversion program. for this program, we could have easily let this contract -- left this as one standalone $60 million contract, but we instead decided to work collaborative with of the department of partners to maximize the benefits for different communiti

also before the land use committee was an amendment to the d.p.w. code aamending the cellular teans in the public right of way. it was heard and recommended approval. the committee recommended approval of the ordinance as you heard it. i would like to go over some of the new legislation that was introduced at the full board on tuesday. there is only one ordinance. this would amend section 409. it was introduced by mayor newsom. it is technical cleanup for the technical stimulus and new fee legislation. there were some clarifications that other depends wanted specifically on how cost adjustments would be calculated. we consider this a minor change, and we have presented a case report and will be before you next week. that concludes my report. >> a couple of questions. if i heard correctly, it sounds like supervisor took our recommendations and severed some items, and also is going for a 312 notice instead of a c.u. for other entertainment? >> that is correct. >> the second thing in regards to sequa. i don't know if it is a matter of consideration, bu

people drive from land-use to land use. that is not true. they drive from parking place to parking place. you cannot drive if you do not have a parking place. when you evaluate the project in this way, it gives developer no incentive for building less parking. based on land use, even have so much driving. we have so much congestion on 19th avenue and around. nothing happens. we have issued an alternative that would have much less parking and impact. then you and the board of supervisors could see that the alternate project does not have these impacts. the way you analyze the project, there are so many units that will dry. you cannot do business that way. they were providing a big commercial center. it would draw people to drive there. we said it should be smaller. you have to provide enough commercial for the residents to walk and have shuttles. we made comments about allowing other people to use the shuttle. people who get off on the bus or the lrv can use
