look at that landscape. a gorgeous landscape. you could be in the adirondacks. you are not.leaseemember -- remember that it is not exactly isolated. i grew up in new york in the 1970's and i remember what this place was like. i am always looking around. i could not find it. the whole thing had collapsed. it was overgrown. it was a woods with a lot of water in it. the waterfall had collapsed. these are amazing rustic scenes. there is the arch at the end of the ravine. really quite extraordinary. extraordinary. all of it is designed by olmsted and vaux. it is like falling down a well into wonderland. here are the guys who did it. here they all are. wearing a dirty. -- derby. he was a short guy and would try to extend himself. olmsted is on the far right. these brilliant guys all joined in this work and it truly was a team. everything has been thought of to be done in central park. anything you can imagine, from racecourses, fights, circuses. the park remains. between the civil war and world war i, the brownstone neighborhoods. city, athe skyscraper remarkable place. a differen
