sky ranger southbound lanes were closed for a bit, but they're now back open. we turn to nbc bay area's mike inouye. he's tracking the residual traffic impact. it was completely shut down their southbound lanes for a while and any time of day, especially though around the tail end of the morning commute, if you shut down any portion of 880, it's going to create a lot of trauma here in the east bay. we're going to zoom in. this is southbound, heading away from the bay bridge just past 980. so closer to the broadway or the oak exits. we saw both of those signs. when chopper was over it, they had completely stopped traffic. the northbound side was distracted as well because there appeared to be officers on the freeway walking across the freeway looking for some sort of evidence. again, that reopened the residual effect. is there still slowing as you're heading in both directions on 880, but especially southbound approaching that original closure, the northbound side is reopened. if you want to stay clear of that, you should still use 580 east and westbound. all th
