the larkins was there for me serving younger than 18 up to 24. this shelter was healthy and safe. i am here because many of my friends are will in shelters, navigation center. unfortunately, they are not white as safe and healthy as the larkins shelter was also, the navigation centers, the intake assessed is a bit of a barrier, just to get into the navigation center. i think that is somewhat discriminatory. i said aren't funding doctrines services for people living in an able housing unit they must also fund sex worker services a lot of work has been introduced, i support that. want to see the graham expanded citywide. as an hiv positive person i was fortunate enough to nullify for hiv transitional housing. transitional housing should be available to all san francisco regardless of the hiv status. as i said, the adult shelter has a huge waitlist and it is not safe and can deteriorate a person's health. i'm also supporting funding inspections of the health center and conflict resolution training for staff that are working population. i am forever thankful to the department of san f

we have four and a final one opening in a month along larkin street. i can say personally, i was a community organizer and advocate in the tenderloin and i myself am overwhelmed at times. having the organization with a group of people that care so much about the entire neighborhood, not just the residents, but the businesses there. i myself just based on the tlcbd and the services they provide and hope they bring to the neighborhood, we locat advocatee other businesses to open on my recommendation and this was due in part because of the support tlcbd is providing. the improvements that have been made in the tern loin. tenderloin. e they not only clean streets but come into our businesses and they bring our street patrol, our police officers by and introduce them and they're kind of -- they're the glue that bind the tenderloin together, everyone. announcement i'm here to implore you to renew them for another ten years. >> thank you for your comments. next speaker, please. >> hi. i'm mike, the club director for boys and girl's club of san francisco and t

i am also with larkin street youth services. i am the case manager at diamond youth shelter. which is one of two youth shelters in san francisco and one of just four in the bay area. we play an essential role in our battle against homelessness. to allow us to reach those at the tipping point before they actually fall over the edge. a role to change courses of action to build strength in youth whose minds are still multiple who have not yet settled into patterns of behavior. while the goal, of course, is for all of under 18 youth to be in homes and living situations that are permanent. there always will be a need for a safety net. for the situations that don't quite fit the mold that the system has created for them and a fall back when the system doesn't work like it is supposed to. our shelter provides support and safety for those who have fallen through the crack. with a proposed budget cut, our shelter will have half of the numbers available cutting the total number of beds for under 18 youth by nearly 40%. it is not a question that this change will have sweeping the detrim

this item relates to a bond issuance for 500 turk and 500-520 turk street and 555 larkin street. and it's to approve the hearing to comply with the federal tax ecwitdy and the financial responsibility act. or tefra. and to apply for bond financing with the california debt allocation committee. the proposed bond issuance will be conduit financing and it does not require the city to pledge any funds to repayment to the bond. 500 turk street is a 108-unit affordable multifamily new construction project located at the corner of turk street and larkin street. all units will be affordable and serve households averaging 50% of the san francisco unadjusted area median income. with 27 project based units reserved for residents wishing to move from public housing to the project. currently the site is a tire and automotive service business. based off the negotiation with the project sponsor the business owner has agreed to relocate their business to another location they own. they plan to return to the board for bond issuance approval for this project later this year and we anticipate that

commission, coleman advocates, youth commission, alliance for girls, department of police accountability, larkin street, i won't read them all. we had quite a representation from community partners. i want to say i really appreciate people coming out and providing extensive, extensive feedback. we received numerous suggestions and feedback throughout the process and we transcribed all the feedback that we got, and then anyone who provided their e-mail address, we sent all of the comments and feedback to the public, to anyone who participated. the most common suggestions that we heard, to just name some of them, was that there was a lot of discussion about making sure we clearly define all the terminology for everyone to understand, especially things like the special circumstances. we want to be sure to include all reference policies as part of the m.o.u., the previous m.o.u. referenced some department led code, et cetera, that were supposed to be in some appendix, i think it was commissioner lopez who pointed out one to me that was not actually as it referred, and that attachment was never part

listening to the director of larkin street youth and positive allowance speak last week. the thing i hear over and over from the non-profits we partner with and our own non-profit. what is one of the components right now is the non-profits are not making livable wages themselves. with the bigger companies maybe there is a way to bring that up. nonprofits have to be financially structured. we are all here to pay people within the organizations a livable wage is very important. you know, it is wonderful that the meetings that i have been able to get with some much these companies have been interesting. the number one thing i notice is they want to send their staff to organizations to help out with volunteer hours. with an organization such as ours working at mental health through the massage therapy, we can't accept volunteers because our craft is very specialized. you have to be certified and have insurance. my main thing is an observation, just kind of interested in pointing that out so when you are talking with organizations you can maybe have that on your mind. thank yo

it's a temporary 2 month street soccer installation on fulton street between larkin street, by the museum and main library. that means soccer fans will be at the viewing party will watch the excitement on screen and play the game nearby. this project is a collaborative effort between multiple city agencies, public works, m.t.a., the asian art museum, library, we're thankful for the urban soccer park for making this project possible. the installation of these two modular turf fields will be ready to go for the july 7th event, coinciding with our block party. they will be bustling everyday from morning until 9:00 p.m. with programming from street soccer u.s.a. and america scores as i think you know, street soccer u.s.a. empowers adults through soccer, helping to build a social safety net and life skills and america scores delivers after school enrichment programs focused on whole child health. the installation will remain up until the end of august and will include youth programs and adult leagues. last weekend, the 82nd festival kicked off in style by rap fusion group digable planets. they

that is the village artist corner on larkin and fulton. this image is powerful because it shows the value that the asian museum stands for and the service that it provides to our community and our beloved city of san francisco. we partner with local artists to bring up free programs for our neighborhoods, for people from all over the city, all over the world, and also partnering with neighborhoods in terms of maintaining the art installations such as the students from hunter's point bayview students. this is really, it really summarizes our efforts in terms of engaging the community and providing service to the community. the asian museum's and -- agent museum museum's mission is to -- i'm delighted to say that there is a movement. back in 2014, the asian art museum rebranded itself. i am proud to say we are the first to claim asian for all. we want to make asian art and culture essential to everyone. this year is our 20th proposed budget. there is a total of $12.1 million, only $100,000 higher. our budget has more or less stayed the same.

on their uniforms for the entire month of june with all proceeds from sales of the patch going to larkin street youth services. 150% of our homeless youth are lgbtq, and 70% of people -- are people of color, we know we have a long way to go to achieve equity. when my police captain of my district station told me about the pride patch, i thought to myself, well, we have come a long way as a city and as a police force. as many of you know, my husband is a 35 year veteran of the san francisco police department, and when he entered the police force in 1970, it was not a friendly place. in fact, it was hostile for those brave enough to come out. they faced a lot of harassment and just outright bigotry. this pride patch and the pride s.u.v. symbolizes a sea of change in a profession that has historically been dominated by straight white men. our police force proudly displaying the pride rainbow on their uniform for an entire month sends an invaluable message to both lgbtq officers and the communities that they serve. the patch is a reminder that at a time when so much of the country is not saf
