the man on the left is 26-year-old laron desean campbell, 6'4", 210 pounds. the man on the right, rogelio chavez, 6'1", 290 pounds. both wearing their prison orange when they escaped. they were last seen around 11:00 last night. >> let's check in with kris sanchez in san pedro, heading to downtown san jose. pretty large presence there. it looks pretty quiet on the streets there. >> reporter: it's pretty quiet. there are officers fanned out all around this area. there's a perimeter around the main jail which is where the jailbreak happen. we did see law enforcement trucks parked on the freeways, parked on the roadways, strategically set up should someone spot the inmates. this is the main santa clara county jail. this is where the two suspects or inmates escaped from the second story window. we understand perhaps they may have tied some sheets together to get out. damian trujillo mentioned this is part of the jail that's supposed to be decommissioned soon. the two inmates who are at large are considered dangerous. they have pretty serious charges against them,

a bee tattoo on the left side of his neck as well. 26-year-old laron desean campbell is 6'4", 210 pounds. he's been in the jail since february of last year. both were last seen leaving the second story window of the jail in their orange tops, the jumpsuit tops that you usually see felons in and gray pants as well. they actually set a perimeter p up. >> we have video from within the jail itself and outside as sheriff's deputies begin their search, this coming in to our newsroom overnight. you can see a very serious search indeed. they have gone inside. one of the things we tend to forget is they have searched the jail itself as they are searching for these two suspects. >> this is actually video that happened just a little bit after 11:00 last night. it's just coming into our newsroom. they went to search surrounding areas, the surrounding buildings in there. you saw the deputies were armed. they're looking in windows, doing what they can, had canine units with them. they immediately launched their helicopter as well to get an overhead look to try to see where these escaped inmates went.

it's that kind of help that led law enforcement to capture laron desean campbell. >> on monday, november 28th, detectives received a tip with a he was hiding in a drens in antioch. we were able to determine the location of the residence and determined that campbell was staying with his sister, marcaysha alexander, in the 1000-block of don lynn avenue in antioch. detectives contacted the u.s. marshal service and they began physical surveillance of the residence. after several hours of constant surveillance the marshals were able to see that campbell was indeed at the residence. on november 29th at approximately 10:00 p.m., the united states marshal service and the antioch police department served a warrant at the residence. upon entering the residence, they determined that campbell was hiding in the attic. campbell then crashed through the ceiling, onto the floor, where the marshal service and antioch police took him into custody without further incident. u.s. marshal service transported campbell to the santa clara county main jail, where he was booked into custody. our detectives then in
