joining us with his thoughts, cnbc's senior contributor, larry kudlow. this kkk issue, the failure of donald trump over the weekend to disavow the kkk, david duke, no matter what he says about it. if he becomes the party nominee, what does that say about the republican party? >> hang on a second. there's some confusion here. let me amend john harwood's report. on friday, on friday trump tweeted that he does not accept, that he revokes the david duke endorsement, the so-called endorsement. the odd thing was on sunday he didn't seem to understand it. i'm not sure he heard the whole thing correctly. i think he did correct that on "the today show." he has to clean that up and make it clear. i don't think trump has anything do with that. i think it's much to do about nothing. i admit he has to clean it up to get out. the big issue here is not going to be david duke, it's not meg whitman. the big issue here is how many states trump wins tomorrow. the answer probably is going to be most of them, but not all of them. ted cruz is going to take texas undoubtedly.

joining us from des moines, larry kudlow and chief washington correspondent john harwood. welcome. good to be with both of you. john, take us through the timeline, if you wouldn't mind, when do people start caucusing, when do we start getting results, when will we know who the winner is? >> tyler, the caucuses start at 7:00 central time. that's 8:00 eastern. and the process is a little bit more straightforward and more rapid on the republican side because it is more like a straight primary vote. so i would expect that by the time we get to 9:00, we're going to have a pretty good idea of the republican contest, on the democratic side, it is a little more complicated because you have candidates, supporters, separating into groups and if a candidate or supporter don't reach 15% of that particular caucus, those people have to reallocate themselves and join other campaigns, so you can have switching around, we have seen that in the past. so the democrats take a little bit longer to figure out who is where and longer to tabulate their results. but republicans more rapidly and honestly th

larry kudlow had a chance to speak with a few of them and joins us now. what's the latest from the trail, larry? >>. >> we had a prety interesting interview with donald trump an hour ago. he and jeb bush are going at it, let's see if we can play a clip of jeb bush versus donald trump. >> if i've proposed a 45% across the board tariff on china, the man is crazy and donald trump does it, it's a sophisticated negotiating tool. >> jeb is not a very smart person, doesn't understand my plan. i'm not talking about 45 p. he made that up. i said that what china is doing to us with their devaluation is the equivalent of a 45% tax. we have to get china and other countries to behave because they are devaluing and absolutely killing us with our business. you see what's going on. >> well, there you have it. trump really on two passes with me denied he wants a 45% tafish and the negotiating card did come you will and he thinks that's exactly what it is. currency coordination is a very difficult thing to do. in some sense, that may not be a starter but we'll see. he and j
