we saw larry reed trying to get an accessment of what is going on there. the occupy oakland protesters are insisting that this was not connected to their in kama. we are waiting to hear from officials to get their take on what has happened. ok, we are looking at a live picture and we can see chief jordan that is him with the glasses on in the live picture talking with officers on the scene. we have not seen mayor quan on the scene, but again city council president larry reed is there, and maureen kelly is one of our reporters on the scene. maureen, where are you and what are you seeing? >>reporter: i am right in the saddle of city hall and from a frank ogawa plaza. i just came on the scene about 10 minutes ago. while sitting in my car i saw a string of people walking away with all their belongings across their back. i stop one man and ask him what he was doing and he said he is leaving because of the shooting. >> i have been an oakland resident all my life and i just wanted to bring some change to the community and oakland. right now i am this try to make

larry reed said the strike will have an impact of the city, but he does not think the impacts will be as powerful as the organizers are hoping. >>pam: a rare october snowstorm in the northeast is being blamed for 19 deaths. 3 million customers lost power. many towns have postponed trick-or- treating. >>craig: another day, another earthquake. today, a 2.4 magnitude earthquake. that is six earthquakes in the past week and a half. october 20th it started its recent string. there was a 4.0 that most of us felt. later that night, 3.8 magnitude. and then, a 3.6 magnitude. these earthquakes struck on the hayward fault. >>reporter: on september 5th, 2003, there were three earthquakes in one day. >> this part of the fault thing apparently runs to clusters of earthquakes. does it mean that there will be 81 tomorrow or next week? i have no idea. it could be or not. >>reporter: this part of the fault has had a lot of shaking. the orange dots signify seismic activity. >> this is an ongoing ness of earthquakes. >>reporter: seismologists say there is a 63 percent chance that the bay area will be hit
